Not to throw shade at teens at all because yes they have very real issues that should be heard and treated respectfully. But you also can't deny that hormonal changes are fucking insane and all this physical and mental developing is hard on emotions and I do kind of feel like stuff like that also plays a role in why they won't really diagnose certain disorders during this very turbulent time. Not to minimise what teens are going through at all, more so from a perspective of somebody who grew up mentally ill (ig) as well looking back on my own teens.

Self harm can be an addiction even if you don't do it every day.
