who knows what awaits us in the depths

As we all know, Luis once worked as a researcher for Umbrella Corporation, taking part in numerous unethical human experiments for the Nemesis Parasite project. Yet in Resident Evil 4, he sacrifices himself to save two complete strangers. To me, this wavering morality that keeps him lingering in the gray area is one of his greatest charms 😎

Most fanworks only portray his cheerful and easygoing side, but his time at Umbrella is an inescapable part of who he is. This duality layers incredible complexity onto his character. Imagine this: the easygoing young man you chatted with the night before turns out to be the researcher conducting secret human experiments inside a bioweapons corporation—doesn’t that make him far more fascinating?

For this artwork, I aimed for a casual, unguarded scene. Luis sits in a space halfway between a lab and an office. While waiting for his experimental data to process, he sneaks in some time to read his favorite chivalric novel.😉

After all, Nemesis was just his job, but Don Quixote was his whole life!

I genuinely feel like too many people in the Fairy Tail Fandom are unwilling to acknowledge that the guild isn’t perfect. That makes the dynamic so much more intriguing to me! I could make this post about anyone in team kickass, all of whom have some unhealthy attachment to Fairy Tail. Gray however faces the most outward abuse in the form of the guild letting Juvia continue to do whatever she wants. Lucy see’s herself as ‘other’ in the guild because she views herself as weak (especially early FT Lucy.) Wendy went from watching her the guild that raised her fade away and then was immediately thrown into a whole new one with no knowledge of what it was like to join a real guild. Erza was literally a slave before Fairy Tail, and is also always putting herself in harms way to protect it. Natsu isn’t willing to view Fairy Tail as anything other than perfect and has hurt people who have so much as bad mouthed the guild.

That’s not even touching on the Thunder Legion! We don’t know much about them, but we know that they were ostracized from the guild because of their magic even before the battle of Fairy Tail.

He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"

"What?"

He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"

"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."

Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
