Zionism is a JEWISH term which means belief in the Jewish right to sovereignty in our ancestral homeland. Nothing more, nothing less. It says nothing about your stance on the actions of the current government of Israel or the war or anything else. Just because it has been coopted by the left to mean Kahanism, imperialism, colonialism, and a bunch of other shit it does not mean does not make it so. You can be a Zionist and a leftist, you can be a centrist, you can be an extreme right wing religious Zionist, or even *gasp* a pro-Palestinian Zionist who supports a two state solution and wants an end to the war and peace and autonomy and self determination for both people, like most Jews I know. All of those people are Zionists because they all share the belief in Jewish autonomy, period, end of discussion. There are as many ways to be a Zionist as there are Jews on this earth. Excluding Jewish people because their version of Zionism is not acceptable by YOUR extremely narrow acceptable definition is literally antisemitic.

They introduced a bill to repeal the entire Inflation Reduction Act.

Which, among other things, means they want to get rid of:

the $35 insulin cap.

And a yearly cap of $2,000 for medications in Medicare Part D.

And allowing Medicare to negotiate for drug prices.

And requiring pharma companies to issue refunds to Medicare if the costs of their drugs rises faster than inflation

And an elimination of copays in Medicare Part D for vaccines like tetanus and rabies

And an expansion of eligibility for low-income subsidies for Medicare

They constantly celebrate the deaths of poor folks, queer folks, and people of color.

They trot out a list of offenses to explain why the people they work tirelessly to get killed deserve what's happening, despite their own rhetoric about some nebulous "right to life" that is apparently stronger in a non-viable collection of cells than in a fully-formed citizen with a uterus.

Oh no. KOSA IS that bad. It will literally eradicate queer people online.

The bill says that a "covered platform" - broadly defined as "anything on the internet a minor might use" which is literally the entire fucking internet- has a "duty" to protect minors from anything that might harm them, including "sexual exploitation" and other undefined terms

It also gives state attorneys general the ability to sue to enforce it.

So here's exactly what's gonna happen:

Wacko republicans, as they've been doing with increasing force this year and last, are going to sue any and every website in existence, saying that the mere existence of LGBT people online constitutes sexual abuse of minors. And websites are gonna be so afraid of not doing the most that they'll just axe all LGBT everything.

Like. Republicans have been calling all LGBT people groomers and child molesters for years. The lead Republican literally admitted this bill will be used to attack trans people.

This bill is BAD bad. I'm appalled that democrats are lining up behind what is clearly a republican Trojan horse to eradicate LGBT people from the entire internet.
