And ppl r like ohhh classism aint a thing no more but like you still kinda see it like yes i do hate the yankees team cause the yankees fans think theyre better than everyone else LOL but its less than that like theres still this idea about thr south that everyone in there are dumb backwater hicks still. its 2026... and while yes the south is still very much like christian and homophobic it does not mean that its acceptable for people to not have any empathy for when natural disasters and stuff like the way ppl act during hurricanes and floods like the one last year wss gross you cannot condemn one set of killing halfway across the world (which is bad. like for the record before anyone says im saying its ok to kill people. its not.) and then say its ok for your own citizens to die bc yall dont share the same rhetoric. and im not saying everyone has to get along hunky dory im saying that empathy is a thing and its a good thing too. how would yall feel if thats how southern ppl acted towards you during blizzards or idk whatever natural disasters happen up there. i bet it wouldn't be good.

I think ppl only call a&m a cult because its a southern school... if it was a northern new england school everything about it would be cool but bc it used to be a military school and also only southern ppl really go there its ljke classism I think. if it was some 200k tuition ivy league itd be romanticized but its not its in the middle of nowhere on genuine farmland. you wanna know why a&m has like no arts programs??? cause its an AGRICULTURE AND MECHANICAL school. it's a SOUTHERN school and since before the Civil War the US south has been more hands on while the north has had the opportunity to be able to focus their schools on other things. thats why the engineering pgrm there is envied by a lot of other schools because its legit the blueprint for that. if you wanna do something mechanical you dont go to nyu or colombia you go to ut austin or uh or a&m not some northern school.... maybe try to think before you talk. like they've seen white trash bht not real southern white trash. a good portion of the school including me do not come from generational wealth like a lot of other well recognized schools. and it aint like a&m is some hole in the wall college to which id see their point no its like a sixteenth of rhode island
