But also because when I was 11 i read a short story about a girl who went to a museum and stole a bandage flake off a mummy on display with the mentality of "im just one person one piece won't be missed" then at night she was visited by the mummy and it plucked a single hair from her head and then the next night a different mummy took another hair and she realized that there were only so many pieces to her before there would be nothing left and that story was forever wedged in my brain. We must stop tying a woman's bodily worth to how fertile and impregnatable she is, to how well she carries child after child after child. To how well she can serve a breeding function. To refuse to uncouple pregancy and child bearing from womanhood and the worthiness of women is inherently regressive, weather you are doing it with a 'yessss girl powerrrrrr' coat of paint on top or not.

Young people are too invested in the comically unreasonable dream of having a full time job, making enough money to not waste their life thinking about budgeting for necessities, living in something other than a cardboard shoebox, and having like 3-4 friends who they actually like and who care about them. Instead they should be thinking about networking, producing content, optimizing workflows, and training their body into the perfect commodity

like god fucking damn women for centuries fought to have financial and social independence, and we largely achieved that in most countries, just for modern women who have no idea what patriarchy used to do to us to turn around and go “i’m not the problem, blame men for saying i look prettier after a nose job” you have everything your foremothers hoped and dreamed for, all that autonomy won through blood and sweat, and you waste it offering your body up to the patriarchy because “social pressure” get the fuck over yourself and stop acting like you have no choice. absolutely pathetic

and whenever people criticize women who get cosmetic procedures done and who enslave themselves to beauty standards it’s always met with “it’s not their fault, it’s the patriarchy” and i find that to be such a circular, never ending blame game. yes fucking obviously it’s the true fault of the patriarchy but you can’t hold a system of social hierarchy accountable because the decisions individuals make constitute said system. and turning it into a chicken or the egg debate does nothing besides shift blame to something that cannot be reckoned with or addressed. stop blaming the patriarchy at large for the individual decisions of fully autonomous women

my dad is very intensely involved a battle with his city’s public administration over a playground they have tried to forcibly remove like five times in the past 20 years and DID remove once in like 2005 but then had to rebuild because my dad was such a pain in their asses and came through with undeniable receipts of the zoning plan from the 60s/the historic/cultural value of the urban planning…. like there’s a woman in the city office who is his arch nemesis. he is literally the daredevil of urban planning
