i feel so defensive and protective of people with ARFID like if i had a disorder that made my brain register 90% of food as poison for no reason and i had a bazillion people on the internet constantly calling me a manchild who needs to just grow up and stop being a picky eater i would start killing people

#as a lifelong picky eater i feel this #although i do have some resentment towards those who had some diagnosis to explain these sensitivities #bc i come from a family of foodies and i’m the only afab person of my generation in my family #but having a diagnosis doesn’t mean they didn’t also get ridiculed #i know that #it’s just complicated bc i was always surrounded by autistic boys whose needs were prioritized over my own #only come to find i have the same diagnosis #so the resentment is there even if i don’t think it’s justified #i mean gender plays a role but i don’t want to minimize the feelings of everyone else in the situation #i’ve made my peace with this but i still think about it
