We are not getting any younger, so for a change, I spent my birthday this year by doing something different. Together with my siblings, I’ve decided to unravel the magic of the Pandora’s Box situated at the top floor of Baguio Centermall. Its a fantasy themed cafe with a private archery range.
As you enter the room, you will be welcomed by the antique decorations from its ceiling, to the walls and down to its furniture with matching medieval background music. The draperies and lamps sets the medieval ambiance while the decorations and color palette of the place transport you in a whole new world. The place is divided into two parts, the dining area and the archery range.
And before we even get into action, we had to taste first their menu offerings to gain enough energy. We started with this huge chocolate flavored Diabeetus Milkshake which is one of their popular items. By the looks and how it is called, those who have sweet tooth will really enjoy this chocolate base drink which is topped with vanilla ice cream, brownies, stick-o wafer, marshmallows and lots of sprinkles.
Off to the main course, we had a fair share of their Chicken Cordon Bleu paired with buttered vegetables on the side. It came with their 2 best seller magic potions, Death and Haste, served in a bulb shaped container.
And after that hearty meal, we went straight ahead to their archery range and enjoyed the moment as we are all first timers in playing this game. What’s good about this place, you get to be taught first by their in-house expert archers before starting shooting the mythical targets. They will equip you with the right arm gears and of course your bow and arrows. Those who have their own equipment can bring and use their own and will just pay a lesser amount. Briefing of the house rules and basic techniques will follow and you’re off to explore the wilderness on your own after that. Take note, this game is really addicting most especially when you hit your target the first time.
Even though nobody’s perfect, practice makes perfect in this game. It’s hard to draw and release the arrows the first time but with the proper timing, right use of force and focus, you’ll find your self shooting like a pro. It will take time and require lots of energy, this game will not only challenge your physical strength but your focus and determination as well.
Just like in life, we’ll experience challenges and difficulties that will draw us back. But we should never lose hope. Always stay focused and we’ll surely find ourselves being launched into something great.
