Savor a warm, Paleo-friendly hot chocolate recipe. This recipe will keep your Paleo diet intact while warming you up on a cold day because it is dairy-free and refined sugar-free.
Ingredients: 2 cups almond milk. 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder. 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup. 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Pinch of sea salt.
Instructions: In a small saucepan, heat the almond milk over medium heat until it's hot but not boiling. Whisk in the unsweetened cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt. Continue to whisk until all the ingredients are well combined and the hot chocolate is smooth and hot. Be careful not to let it boil. Pour the Paleo hot chocolate into mugs and serve hot. You can garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or a cinnamon stick if desired.
