Eyeshield 21 is and will always be one of the best manga about sport no matter what ! This is very injust that an incredible manga like this didn’t have the chance to get a nice animation …

ES21 is my favorite manga before naruto, the story is just super ! I hope they will continue the annimation until the real end of the manga one day…’cause this manga deserves it a lot..

The Fans:

The friendship been the main gang is so authentic. Nothing feels forced. how they care for each other and also how they joke around with each other is just wholesome and you can see the little jokes and nuances between them after being friends for years

also all the characters act their age. They are in their late 30s and they are shown to be mature adults who make rationale decisions which we don’t see too much in dramas. 

Another awesome thing is that the secondary characters aren’t just there to enhance the main characters. like they all play an important role in the drama and they have their own lives and stories and im glad the drama focuses on a different resident in every episode.

also I’m glad we get to see the friendship between the residents. they aren’t shown to be competitive with each other even though some of them are in the same department. instead they help each other out and are there for each other when things get tough and it’s really refreshing to see such well thought out secondary characters

Next how relationships are portrayed in the drama. Everyone basically knows that Gyeo-wool likes Ahn Jeong-Won but as soon as she realizes he doesn’t reciprocate her feelings she stops with her attempts. She still likes him but doesn’t make it weird. in most other dramas we see people continually pestering their love interests until they give in

And it’s wonderful to see how normal adults would act when they are rejected.

And continuing with relationships, my boy Ahn Chi-Yong doesn’t play games. he likes song hwa and he’s honest about that. If she doesn’t feel the same way it’s fine and the rejection in one of the episodes doesn’t make chi-yong bitter or a salty character he’s still polite and respectful and hopeful towards her

and with Kim Joon-wan and Ik-Sun. we are shown joon wan being respectful of Ik-sun and not being jealous that she has male friends who text her. he trusts her!! which is something we don’t see alot in dramas. there’s always that weird thing about how girls and guys can’t be friends and kim joon wan isn’t here for that nonsense

also he’s so supportive of her dreams and isn’t salty that she’s going to England for 3 years. he hypes her up  

also once joon wan realizes how serious he is about Ik-Sun he makes an effort to talk to Ik-Jun to let him know that he’s dating his sister 

this is a lot longer than I thought it was gonna be but lastly showing that divorce is normal and that people can live normal lives afterwards

And the fact that they show Ik-Jun being a single parent who is thriving and also showing how all the friends pitch in and help whenever necessary
