Fascinating how Matt described Fjord bonding with the Star Razor as his pact weapon differed from how he remembers his bond with the Sword of Fathoms being. With the Star Razor, the power binding it to him feels like it comes directly from him, whereas with the Sword of Fathoms the bond was in a relay with Uk'otoa; the Sword of Fathoms always felt borrowed in a way the Star Razor doesn't. Which really does encapsulate his relationship with both weapons. The Sword of Fathoms was a boon from Uk'otoa but one which it made clear was something it could take back, it also wasn't originally his, having previously belonged to Vandran. The Star Razor in comparison, was a freely given gift from the rest of the Mighty Nein that Fjord chose to make a symbol of his new pact with the Wildmother. It was reforged specifically for him. And thusly it is his in a way the Sword of Fathoms never really was.

I SAW THIS IN THE PORTLAND ART MUSEUM! ITS HUGE!

it shimmers like no gemstones i've ever seen: green as malachite and emerald but shot through with opal, gold, copper. photographs can't do it justice because of how it shines, as well as the way the actual material elements have their own dimensions. you can lean in and study all the fine lines of the circuits or step back and admire how the rearranged whole forms new patterns. it's one of the most beautiful creations i've ever seen.
