I did some studies of some glassware pics after a very long drought of no drawing at all. pls enjoy
I have GOT to stop spending $30
anyways, I'm still so angry over that Deadline article about Disney nuking Ncuti Gatwa's era of Doctor Who because of "woke" (not even kidding), because they received "overwhelming" feedback that the show was "too woke" for international audiences. It will never not piss me the fuck off how woke was/is literally aave for being politically aware that's been so co-opted by white establishment conservatives that this bastardised co-opted colonised concept of "woke" is now weaponised against Black people, people of colour and other marginalised people to justify casting us down and out. A literal fuckinf alien was played by a Black gay actor and old white people lost their shit and now a 60 yr old show is basically dead because some white people hated they weren't being directly pandered to. I'm never not gonna be pissed the fuck OFF
Hey, people in the comments who said I was wrong about the show being dead because I could see the writing on the wall months ago....well, now there's the official announcement. I really hope that no one ever forgets that Doctor Who was cancelled because of anti-Blackness, racism, and corporate greed.
It is not nearly common enough knowledge that most Native tribes in the U.S. don't actually own all of the land within their reservation. There are millions of acres of reservation land that tribes don't legally own and they have no control over how that land is used. Like, there are a lot of different concepts tied in with the land back movement, but a major one is literally just getting reservation land back into tribal ownership.
So we know land back is Indigenous sovereignty Native agency and Indigenous stewardship yes. Land back is them respecting treaties they promised to respect ages ago but didnāt. Land back is them respecting the agreements they made with sovereign nations but broke instead. Land back is us going back to our ancestral lands. Land back is referring to Indigenous land by native names not colonizer ones. Land back isnāt a ethostate or deporting people Or whatever fever dream settlers have thatās cuz of settler colonizer projection and guilt.ļæ¼
āIf you're American, you've almost certainly heard about how Indigenous reservations were and are located on whatever land the US doesn't want anyway. That they're just a way to whisk away undesirables until the land becomes useful to the US. That's the two-state solution.āļæ¼
Two state solution is living side by side with people that tried to exterminate you with land theft genocide ethnic cleansing and settler colonialism When we say land back We mean all land stolen by settler colonizers Not just half of it to appease colonizers or respectability politicsļæ¼
āitās worth mentioning that the proposal of a ātwo-state solutionā is exactly what was offered to the Indigenous peoples of the Americas by European settler colonizers as a peaceful way to coexist.āļæ¼
Land back. Indigenous šŖ¶ agency, sovereignty, and stewardship. All land back. Turtle Island, HawaiŹ»i, Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland), Sisam Moshir (Ainu term for mainland Japan), Ryukyu/Luchu (Okinawa), Samoa, Guahan (Guam), Papua, Ćire(Ireland), Alba (Scotland), BorikĆ©n (Puerto Rico), Maohi Nui (French Polynesia of Tahiti Bora Bora and Marquesan Islands,) Aotearoa (New Zealand), Palestine Etc. Etc. End to all settler states.ļæ¼
i have a suggestion

It's really funny that redditors convinced themselves that the stupid Tiananmen Square copypasta is going to get chinese people forcefully disconnected from their internet service or something while the UK government will get your ass if you complete the sentence "Soldier F is ___" and has actively worked with google and with social media websites to censor posts or search results about Soldier F
Like 90% of the shit people make up about China is actually true for the UK

In case the links ever go down, Soldier F is David Cleary, a British paratrooper.
He murdered two Irish people in Derry, occupied Northern Ireland, who were demanding their civil rights on what was later called Bloody Sunday, January 30, 1972. He wounded four more. In total 13 irish demonstrators demanding equal rights were murdered by British paratroopers that day.

Israel has once again cut off all aid to Gaza and closed all crossings into the strip, intensifying its genocidal blockade as the population faces widespread disease and malnutrition.
The move, announced by the Israeli militaryās Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (Cogat), comes after Iran launched missiles at Israel on Sunday in retaliation for its strikes against Lebanon.
Israel has repeatedly violated its ceasefire agreements with Hamas and Hezbollah, killing hundreds in both Gaza and Lebanon in recent months as it seizes control of more land.
The apartheid state last cut off all entry to Gaza in late February following the outbreak of the US and Israelās illegal war on Iran.
...
Cogat said in a post on X on Monday that crossings into Gaza would be closed āuntil further noticeā. It falsely claimed the move āwill not affect the humanitarian situationā in Gaza.
only 150-200 of the 550-600 needed trucks of aid were allowed to enter each day anyway. this is going to kill so many people
its ok that karina is leaving drawfee. although the phrasing of the post is a bit concerning, i respect drawfee as a team of adults who can handle their own buisness. i look forward to supporting both the drawfee team and karina with their new directions going forward

Dear friends, donors, supporters, and well-wishers,
We are a group of people from Sudan who fled our homeland due to conflict. Initially, we were over 500, but after a long and dangerous journey, only 120 of us made it to South Sudan. Sadly, not everyone survived, and it breaks our hearts to see our numbers continue to decline. Now, we are 110 people, desperately trying to reach Uganda for safety.
We are urgently seeking your help to make this journey. We have been stranded here for a long time, facing starvation and a lack of medical care. Many of our mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers have already passed away. With no one else to turn to, we are reaching out to you for support.
To reach Uganda, each person needs $500, which will cover:
⢠$300 for transport
⢠$70 for food during the journey
⢠$120 for basic survival needs after arriving in Uganda
Since we are far from South Sudanās capital, Juba, our journey will take four days. First, we must reach Juba, then travel for two days to Uganda. Once there, we will not stay in the capital, Kampala, but move directly to other areas for safety.
With 110 people, we need $55,000 to complete this journey. We also have 17 dogs and 8 cats, and while we would never want to leave them behind, we will do our best to bring them with us.
We could have moved earlier, but our GoFundMe has received only small donations, which have helped with medical care but not enough to escape.
THIS IS WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOWāTO SURVIVE.
⢠A $500 donation can save the life of one person in our community.
⢠A $1,000 donation can help two people or even moreāperhaps a child and a grandmother.
⢠Any amount will contribute to someoneās survival, as donations add up to help each person make it.
We understand that $55,000 may seem like a large amount, but it is not just for usāit is to save an entire community.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DONāT REACH $55,000?
As a community, we have made a heartbreaking decision: If we donāt raise the full amount, we will still attempt to move forward. However, we will have to vote on who gets to leaveāprioritizing children, grandmothers, and people with disabilities. The rest will have to stay behind, hoping for another chance. It is a heavy decision, but we have no other option.
The profile picture on our GoFundMe was taken when we first arrived in South Sudan. The second image in this post shows our current realityāthe shelter we built while living here. https://gofund.me/12c12ab7

Thank you so much for your donations, which are truly saving lives. Even the truly small donations are making a big difference, and if you cannot afford donating, reblogging is a huge help. We appreciate your time and kindness in understanding our desperate situation.
May you always be healthy.

Daily reminder to Americans on this website that American war on Iran is bad because Iranians are getting killed not because you can no longer afford going to the movies in the weekends or refill your car š
Y'know what, this reminder also includes non-Americans. Let's watch our words and keep the victims of American aggressions in our heart always
āIn the 1970s, scientists realized that humpback whales sing structured songs. Strangely, even if theyāre coming from thousands of miles apart, males converging on mating grounds all sing the same song. Humpback song is composed of about ten different consecutive themes, each made of repeated phrases of about ten different notes requiring about fifteen seconds to sing. The song lasts about ten minutes. Then the whale repeats it. For hours in the ocean, in their season of courtship, the whales sing. Each oceanās song is different, and over months and years it changes in the same way for the thousands of whales in each ocean, the song somehow a continual work in progress, fully shared. Sometimes the change is sudden and radical. In the year 2000, researchers announced that humpbacksā song off Australiaās east coast was āreplaced rapidly and completelyā by the song Indian Ocean humpbacks off Australiaās west coast had been singing. It seems that a few āforeignersā made the trek west to east, and their song became such an instant hit with the easterners that everybody had to sing it. The researchers wrote, āSuch a revolutionary change is unprecedented in animal cultural vocal traditions.ā And once a phrase in the song disappears, it has never again been heard, despite over twenty years of eavesdropping. What do the songs mean? Researcher Peter Tyack says, āWe may have to thank the evolving aesthetic sensibilities of generations of female humpbacks for the musical features of the malesā songs.ā Songs of humpback whales, by the way, have sold millions of recordings. We share that aesthetic. That might be both the biggest mystery and the best evidence of like-mindedness.ā

Beyond Words: What Animals Think and Feel

People outside Gaza think that the war against us is over, and that we are living in peace and tranquility, but they do not know that the war is still ongoing.
The bombing, death, hunger, and displacement do not stop for a single moment. What has actually stopped is the world's interest, questions, and follow-up. We do not know if they have grown tired of us and become accustomed to our tragedy, or if the media has deceived them and contributed to misleading them!
Be the alternative media, do not forget Gaza, do not get tired of it, and do not stop talking about it, for whoever does not care about the affairs of people is not one of them!!
Don't overthink helping families in Gaza; participation makes a difference in their lives, and donating makes a big difference.
Here are some families from Gaza who need help.
Help Mahmoud's family from here
Help Karim's family from here
My friends Mahmoud and Mahrah are siblings from Gaza. I have been friends with Mahrah since early 2025. She introduced me to her brother later that year, and I introduced both of them to my wife. We have a group chat together. My wife (@cannilyuncanny) now hosts their family's fundraiser (vetted by 90-ghost and shared by fairuzfan) and wires transfers of donations directly to Mahrah.
I am texting with Mahmoud right now as I write this, and I want to assure anyone who needs the assurance that @freepaleatine955 is the shared blog of Mahmoud and Mahrah. They previously posted from palestinian95, and before that from mahrahpalestine. Recently, tumblr staff have been aggressively targeting Palestinian blogs and deleting them. Many people are having to recreate blogs and rebuild their networks.
Please share widely so others can find them!
slightly furious reminder that fish do in fact feel pain and do in fact experience fear and distress when in pain since people seem to love spreading the myth that fish don't feel pain. what is it with people assuming a creature is incapable of feeling pain or emotion just because it doesn't have complex facial muscles. come on gang
As my main income, I work with fish in a specialty pet store that's privately owned (so I'm allowed to say no and be stern to customers when it's needed).
You learn really quickly that not only do fish have individual personalities and emotions but they also have memories and recognize people! There are certain fish who will only come out for me and hide for everyone else. The pufferfish spits at me because she gets pissy that I haven't fed her. The flowerhorn bites everyone but me and my coworker when we clean his tank. I trained a fire eel to come up and eat directly out of my hand.
Fish are beautiful complex creatures and I thank the universe everyday that I get to work in a place where I'm encouraged to tell animal abusers to fuck right off.
So, like, fun fact: all of us, down to nearly the very base of animal tree of life, basically have the same neurotransmitters for motivation/drive. We all seem to have comparable pain receptors and react to opioids (pain reduction)
(Well, invertebrates use octopamine instead of noradrenaline, but supposedly that is very similar.)
And by almost the entire tree of life I do mean all of us: mammals, fish, bugs, jellyfish, POSSIBLY sponges (it is a little unclear if someone checked)
All, that is, except ctenophores.
Also known as 'a swimming string of led lights wrapped in a plastic bag'.
Completely different neurochemistry.
May as well be aliens.
Also known as āa

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
reminder that you and i are fish
we are a fish, us and the other land animals, that picked up part of the sea and brought it with us onto land even.
We are fish, the ocean in our very heart and lungs and veins and organs. We are fish and the sea itself gives us life continually. The waters of Earth produce much abundance, produce more than we could ever need, produce food and oxygen and the very building blocks of life itself. Why then should we feel superior to some ālesser creature,ā some ābaser formā when we share the same history, the same planet, the same life?

It's nuts how common it is to not allow children to be angry, even (especially) in households where adults are angry all the time. As a child I knew my own anger was unacceptable--not just expressing it outwardly but feeling it at all. So now as an adult my immediate reaction to my own anger is often to feel guilt instead of like. Noticing when someone is being rude or unfair or my boundaries are being violated or whatever. fucked up.
to this day "who is allowed to be angry" has been an incredible benchmark for teasing out who, in abusive situations with mutual accusations and DARVO happening, is being abusive and who is being abused. one of my favorite resources about this, the Creative Interventions Toolkit, phrases the question "who sets the weather?" in the relationship and I think about it so so often when I think about my own childhood. I was parentified in a way that set me up for future abusive relationships, because I had to soothe my parents' anger while not being allowed to feel angry myself. I am extremely grateful to everyone outside myself - friends, therapists, partners - who's gotten angry on my behalf about how I'm treated or let me know something I'd been excusing or blaming myself for was actually Not Okay. I guess the good news here is that it's possible to learn how to access anger again in a healthy way, it just takes support, like doing physical therapy for a muscle that didn't develop quite right.
I relate so strongly to this.
This is not to say that feeling anger is abusive; it's human to feel anger. But if you've ever felt like your anger was "unjustified" or were afraid to express it outwardly because you expected it to be dismissed ... ask yourself how you would react if the roles were reversed. I find that a lot of folks who were The Grown Up in a relationship with their parents hold themselves to much different standards than they hold other people.
I've seen plenty of situations that involve two or more people hurting each other and not admitting any fault because they want to protect their own egos. But. Notice when you think you're not entitled to be upset about something. When someone tells you you shouldn't be upset. There's a difference between taking your anger out on other people and just. Being allowed to feel angry.
I am aware that my "sincere" tone often comes out as "passive-aggressive" and I'm working on that. So, with the knowledge I'm going for "sincere" here, I want as many people as possible to know about a key difference between renfaires and SCA events.
Renfaires have audiences. SCA events have participants.
This means that SCA events are often a lot cheaper to get into, because there are no actors practising skits, just nerds like you who have been doing it a bit longer. You still can watch people sing and swordfight, but there's no plot to follow. Because we are doing this for ourselves.
And you can join in! We want you to join in! We want to teach you how to spin flax and swordfight and forge armor and build kilns!
Because you aren't an audience. You're playing the same game as the rest of us and you have to play by the rules. We will loan you garb. It's free, we're happy to do it. But if you refuse to wear it, we are permitted to ask you to leave, because you aren't following the rules of the event.
I know you don't have to wear garb at a renfaire, but the SCA isn't a renfaire.
Anyone can reblog this. Even if you don't intend on attending an SCA event or a renfaire you should know the difference.
