Halo hot take of the week: I actually like it when the women are mean. It makes them feel more like they fit in with the rest of the crowd instead of just being sex dolls for the misogynistic part of the fanbase. I genuinely love Palmer's "I thought you'd be taller" quip in H4!!! (Although I realize that's not really her being "mean" but it's the first thing that came to mind)

she's literally just bantering with him! palmer came up through the marines and ODSTs! she is bantering with chief like she would with anybody else and chief probably understands this interaction pretty well! this is friendly!

when i say palmer's mean i'm mostly thinking about all the egghead stuff from spartan ops lol. and i think it's fine for her to not be very nice, and for her niceness to not be very soft.

i know a lot of people don't like palmer, that's fine, but you have to recognize that her characterization would be completely unremarkable for a male character from the same background and it's so telling that gamers lose their shit over her.

So apparently it's just a Hit-Registery error on the Heads of the NPC's that made everyone think you couldn't kill women. You can in fact, kill All crewmen by shooting them in the legs
