The thing about Taub's marriage is that it's full of love BUT it is fucking miserable if you scratch beneath the surface. Taub and Rachel are shown to be fundamentally incompatible but they do love each other, or at least the idea of being with each other. Their marriage is comfort and familiarity, it's ease, it's security, it's the guarantee of steadfast love in your life. It's just that love isn't enough. That's the whole tragedy of it.
