South Scrimshaw is the story of a newborn whale in a vast alien ocean. It is a richly illustrated experimental visual novel, written in the style of a nature documentary.
A story drawn gorgeously in watercolours and digital art from the view of researchers studying whales. This part follows the growth of a whale pup from birth to adolescence. Although itβs in a documentary format it has a more personal feel to it as it follows the whale pupβs emotions closely.
Itβs all speculative biology and I love it. Itβs like watching nature documentaries as a kid again. I swear we need more of these.
Surprisingly this thing is entirely free on Itch.io or on Steam.
