And so, at the end of it all—now the start. Again. What happens to Mel, the Artist? Mel, the girl who wanted to paint the walls in gold? Who etched her dreams (and her nightmares), her memories, her world in colour on massive canvases? I think, for a time—perhaps a long while, Mel simply can’t. She can’t draw or doodle, sketch or paint. Everything she’s seen and suffered and lost and gained—all of it has changed her. Irrevocably. Tapped out the reservoirs of the artist she is. Was. Is. She can’t find anything beautiful in this world anymore. And, she herself, no longer feels that she can make things beautiful (We’ll paint the walls in gold). Why try? Especially now that she has to be the Wolf, or the Fox, or whatever lies between while figuring out the power that hums in her veins. What will it take to crack her open again the way she did the eggs for her tempera painting way back in season one? For her to find that part of herself again? To allow herself to be vulnerable enough to draw, once more, her dreams, and nightmares, her memories and the world she inhabits in gold again?

And in the end.....jayce realized how things started, and at that point, he already made Viktor his priority. All he could see was Mel's political manoeuvring. He does eventually snap out of it but it's too late. He still holds grief over how they started, and like everyone else, he withdraws from her and stops trying to figure out who she is.

I am quite 😕 that even after all these years people keep denying Jayce's AGENCY throughout their association, and subsequent relationship in season one. I'm also irked because this is what distinguishes Mel from her mother (for now, who knows in the future, personally hope she does go dark and messy). That she doesn't use her sexual power when she so easily could to get what she wants with Jayce. That when she gets too close to the edge with considering weapons, she steps back because she doesn't want to do what her mother ends up doing - destroying Piltover. She didn't bamboozle Jayce, she didn't lie to him, she didn't trick him nor did she go out of her way to use her feminine wiles (dude was attracted to her from the moment he met her, that's not her fault) or the power of her magical golden-cooch to get him to do anything. And frankly, I sincerely wish she DID do all the things then at least it would make all these years of fandom misreading of her slightly more tolerable.

At least they were hot as hell and beautiful in those outfits (both in black). Perhaps in another life they had a passionate emotional reunion. Ah I I would dream to see my sweet power couple as Leaders of Piltover!
