And because I couldn't resist mermaid oshamir, here's a little drabble too:

Salty water lapped around Qimir’s thighs, his lower legs and feet visible below the crystal aquamarine sea. If he focused hard enough, he was certain that he’d be able to see the sandy sea floor all those leagues beneath him. His sleek board buoyed along with the gentle waves, and he tilted his face towards the warm, bright sun overhead, its heat a strong but familiar sensation on his skin.

It might seem strange to some, but he never felt more connected to the universe than when he was alone out on the water. The world was endless and insignificant, quiet and bursting, calm and commanding.

And the best part? Qimir didn’t have to share his love with anyone else. Not a single other life form.

No, she was all for him.

A heartbeat, then two, then three passed when suddenly, Qimir found himself flipping off of his surfboard with a sharp pull to his left leg.

He hit the water fast and hard, unable to avoid swallowing some water before he could close his mouth. It burned choking harshly down his throat and it was only through his experience and supreme body control that he managed to suppress the urge to cough until he popped above the water line.

Throwing his arms over the board, he hauled up enough to support his chest against it while his lower half remained submerged. Thick, inky strings of hair stuck to his face like itchy plaster.

Despite the discomfort, he dared not move a single wet strand.  

After all, she was always enamored with his hair and who was he to rob her of the pleasure of running her fingers through it?

A lean body draped itself across his back, further pushing him onto the surfboard. Clawed nails scratched at his scalp before peeling the hair back from his eyes and delicately tucking it behind his ears.

Her muscled tail, which he knew to be the most beautiful two-toned combination of blue and purple, wound around his legs, and he tilted his neck accordingly, so that she could lay a kiss there.

A pleased hum proceeded the touch of her plush lips upon him, one that he echoed on a satisfied exhale.

“What have I caught?” she asked coyly, her voice lilting like waves upon the beach shore.

A warm smile stretched across his mouth. “Nothing more than eager heart. Do you accept it, my love?”
