This week marks half a year since I started trying to gain weight, so it feels like a good time for some reflection.
Since the beginning I’ve gained about 13 kg/28.5 lbs. It’s still a lot less visible than I expected. On an empty stomach I still look fairly skinny but softer (1st pic) but my upper abs have finally stopped showing up when I flex (2nd pic). Once I’ve eaten, I’ve got a proper little belly going (3rd pic). What I’ve noticed the most is that a lot of my clothes no longer fit properly, but my ass has grown 7,5 cm/3 inches so it makes sense
My weight gain has been slower than I planned for, but it’s steadily climbing. If the trend from the last few months continues, I should be overweight by the one-year mark (compared to underweight last winter)
To celebrate, I decided to end the day with a second dinner at McDonald’s!
The graph shows my moving 7-day average morning weight. I started using moving averages because the daily fluctuations were massive and made me disappointed every time it dropped. Some morning weights from December are missing and have been filled in with the average of the day before and after. Since it’s a moving average it lags a bit, but I expect it to hit 69 kg/152 lbs sometime this week, as my weight has been hovering around that level the last few days
And, yeah, I'm a nerd!
