Dust of Broken Heart

My take (as someone who is a long time fan of the movie but picky with musicals) on what I consider to be the top songs in the production:

Belong To Someone: Quite literally the thesis to the entire plot. Full of longing and the desire to find your people. Also really shows off LJ's pipes--the boy can sing! The song really does make you feel like you can fly, just like the vamps.

Wild: Not quite the thesis for the entire plot but is definitely a thesis for Lucy's character. The strongest song of the second half for me. Even though Lucy doesn't properly fly on the wires, it still has the feeling of flight and youth with her spinning on the merry-go-round keeping in line with the peter pan of it all.

Now, Forever: Guys, this might be the most emotional song of the whole musical. Like, it really will have you believing in love and taking chances for romance. Maria and LJ's voices compliment each other well and their chemistry is insane during the scene. Just incredibly intimate.

Aaand my personal favorites aka the ones that get stuck in my head all of the time.

Have to Have You: So high energy! When you see it live, it really does feel like you're at a rock concert. No wonder the gang is able to lure in so many fans with it haha.

Belong To Someone: Man, there is just something about this song. Every time I listen it, I kinda relive the same feeling of seeing the vamps fly. So iconic.

I sure have!!! Went to nyc for the first time so I could see it on stage last month. Totally worth it!
