This is the second post covering the positives of Genshin

Context for the post: this is my second post for genshin impact and it is about my loves of the game, while the first post covered my negatives, this covers my positives,

I have maybe 150ish hours in game, have played for 4 months (every day for the past 40+ days), and am AR51 about to be AR52.

I have only four 5 stars, and Lohen, Sandrone….mona, Mizuki.

I’m currently waiting for a few banners to get more!

Character design:

Where so I even start for character design, I recently got Sandrone and oh my god my lesbian heart has gone wild, but it’s not just Sandrone, I love a lot of the character designs, yes many have their flaws but so many have their strong points despite that.

I think when looking into character designs people need to remember it’s a Chinese game, I say that to say beautiful standards, fashion standards, and more are all different to whag many parts of the western world enjoy, many of the things are based off of other real parts of the world, real myths, real gods, real concepts and ideas, and when you learn why the characters are designed after certain things their designs become better.

Though I do think many over sexualise certain aspect, many do it…in a very good way u3u

Nicole is stunning, to me she looks like a candle in a sense, many didn’t understand why she wasn’t more fire based, but I saw her and went, she is a more gentle Pyro base, she is meant to be more angel like, and they do that perfectly while still giving her a chance to have hints at being pyro. I think stretching out designs for each element is great as it gives them more a chance to explore designs

Varka has a rougher look, massive and scarred, while clearly being heroic, like he’s an older knight coming back from a mission, not only does he clearly use a sword weapon which you can tell from his design, but the hints of blue, the cape like jacket and the way he looks like his hair is meant to flow in the wind as if he’s showing off, really showed he’s Anemo

Zibai, has soft hints of yellow that seek out grace, elegance and fit Geo, all while making her long, a tall figure, one who looks a bit older, a bit wiser, showing off signs of horses, managing to seek out horse elements while making her feel like geo and feel like a mythical woman

Columbina having a soft almost ballerina like look that implies her softness, her soft steps and soft motives that are also seen through her dove and angel like looks, showing signs of Hydro without having to try too hard, especially with her flowy nature. While her hair works against her while to bring it out, showing her softness through the pink. Her design feeling as if having been blinded by metaphorical things in the past that she now looks past to change.

Mavukia although having the…pussy pop outfit, clearly looking more leather like to show dominance, strength power, her outfit almost not making sense in a way to imply a type of power not so mortal, her natural hair flowing like the flames she represents through her representation of the pyro element, the sun elements the clear intent of her being a leader, who although strong also remains laid back in a way you can befriend

Sigewinnie being so cute…she’s so cute, sorry I have to bring up this cute baby she’s so CUTE

Then you have the older characters who really shine in establishing the elements and how the elements will represent certain aspects of life and character.

Xinyan being firey like in her looks and animations, showing her punk personality, her standing out through life, her representing sub cultures while still being soft at times.

Lisa clearly being a bit older, wiser, and more adjusted to life, which electro can in a sense be seen as that type of power, giving her an elegant yet powerful apperances that shows her element

Qiqi a small zombie child having the almost medical look, her pale skin and cyro working well together to make her feel like a sickly undead young girl

Most can be said about other designs

I currently play Sandrone / Mizuki / Lohen / Beidou (my teams and leveling are in shambles I am trying to do a better team!)

But I play them due to their looks mostly, Lohen is clearly sadist through his looks in his eyes, yet he’s professional and exact implying that he could infact be a knight, despite his sadistic intent. Beidou look and outfit implies a strong warrior, a fighter for w crew, being a powerful woman who clearly means business even if at times I think her design could be better, Mizuki clearly being more relaxed implying and bath like showing she is calmer, brings people to peace of mind, while working at a bathhouse,

While Sandrone feels like a living doll, having a mind up on the back, dressed almost as if she is a maid yet we know she isn’t, having the strong reds that almost imply her past as a harbinger, her outfit feeling stuck in a way that shows her past of wrong doing, while still remaining elegant ties if all in together

And if I’m being honest I am sucker for the boob windows as a lesbian, yes it’s suggestive, yes it’s bait to get people in, it worked for me, I’m a simple lesbian, Sue me u3u

World building

I don’t want to say that hasn’t already been said, the world blends in together beautifully, the fact you can walk into entirely new parts of the world without the loading screens unless you teleport is beautiful, the set up to justify the teleport marks, is also great.

Each part of the world works to bring together places anyone can joy, there is always at least one nation someone will love the most, if people like water to if they like desert more, there are places for it, if people enjoy pastels or strong colours there is a place for it, if people prefer natural or technology there is a place for it.

It really is just a beautiful world, with cities to make it feel alive, creatures that make it feel alive, and different gimmicks to tie it in together.

The art work

I’m an artist…and the artwork is pretty…the design for most things look amazing, I like the artifact looks even if artifacts make me insane, the mixture of styles if great, I like the way the 3D models are… I like how you can tell love and care was put into most things u3u

Game play

I’m getting tired as I write this out, but I really love how there is different characters for different game styles, you like more reserved? There is more reserved characters! You like fast? There is fast! You like stabbing people, or using magic, or shooting them, or jumping around enemies? It’s there!

They really do allow players to chose how they want to play, who they want to play with, yes you have to wait for banners, but the fact they can build up a want for characters and play styles shows they are doing it right

Music

What can I say what hasn’t been said, it’s a common joke that even genshin impact haters can’t even hate on the music u3u

Extra things!

I am so tired, I have been sick for like 4 days and now it hurts to write, and I wrote too much for the negatives and then realised I wanted to add more

-I like the queer rep they sneak in, they can’t legally add a lot, but the fact they find ways to hint at it is really lovely

-I like how the children are cute, I have baby fever rough these days, they are adorable

-I like the fact you can mute piemon and never hear her again

-the event missions are always fun, I see people hate them but I think they’re nice, but I also love mobile games so I am a suffer when it comes to crappy mini games…

-I think the fact you are always guaranteed a 4 star every 10 pulls is great, you don’t even need to do a 10 pull, I think it’s a lot better then some games that don’t have that

Before anything else this post covers negatives, I will post positives in the future

What this post is about before talking: I have been playing genshin impact for about 4 months now, everytime I get free time, I’ve gotten well over 100 hours at this point maybe 200…, I was an OG player in week one of release, then deleted it as I got bored and it wasn’t my style of gameplay back then. I then proceeded to change my email so I couldn’t get back my progress

Starting from this ground zero I went into it knowing a few things

- I was not going to be spending money due to genshin issues I was aware of

- I was going to play casually not competitively to avoid a want to spend money

- I was going into it while avoiding the fandom (failed a bit) for a way to true the game without outside influence

I still haven’t spent money on the game, I only watch YouTube videos of whales that play, because seeing whales spend 1000s and still having terrible luck grounds me to never spend money on it, and I just talk to my best friend about it, sometimes fandom stuff comes up…I try to ignore it, I fail.

Now going into it, with Genshin talk being very relevant as of…that video, what are my issues?

If I say champion instead of character it is because I am a league of legends chud

PING for Australians:

Probably my biggest issue at the moment is the lack of an OCEANIAN server, it is a known issue to the point every Australian knows, us Australians are stuck at a constant 200+ ping. Now this becomes an issue as the game runs poorly, we need to set our graphics lower which can ruin some enjoyment, and the biggest issue to me. Gameplay.

When you have game play that is reliant of movement, attacks, patterns, doing things at a certain speed, the issue of ping becomes a massive issue. Australians are stuck in the Asian server which creates 200MS to 300MS ping. Australians celebrate when the ping is 210MS, thay is how bad it is

I am western Australian, my ping is set to a 250MS to 300MS ping.

The lack of an Australian server for YEARS is even more upsetting when you know that genshin is big here, Australians love Genshin but we are not afforded good game play for it.

If OCEANIAN ever gets servers, I hope that genshin lets people switch servers for free, or at least for cheap, I would be willing to spend money to go to a server that has better ping. Especially in a game that has characters who do fast ping moves that get destroyed by this ping issue.

Resin:

As a casual free to play player, a common issue even whales bring up is the resin. See I think even giving people the option to pay for resin space (change 200 to 300 etc) would clear up this complaint. If the Resin improved each time you levelled up that would also be great. (Eg 10 more resin space every level) You can not lock weapon level ups, talent level ups, boss drops, and artifacts behind Resin and then cap resin at 200 resin…you gain back after OVER A DAY. You don’t even gain it all back in 24 hours, it’s not on a daily cycle, meanwhile many drops are on daily cycles.

You don’t have to give people infinite resin, but when bosses are 40 resin per fight and it’s a gamble between 2-4 drops, and artifacts are 20 resin with a 1/2 chance of it being the set you want, a 1/5 chance of it being the artifact you want, and a even lower chance of it being a useful artifact where you have to gamble on stats. This becomes a major issue.

Simply give people an option to have a resin reserve, more resin space, of make things cost less resin…or even better add less gambling to these things. Especially when you are expected to have a team of 4 characters and you have to level up 4 characters to level 90, 20 artifacts to level 20, 5 weapons to level 90, and 12 talents to 9 (ideally)

And this isn’t even taking into account spiral abyss where you need to double that effort, or how certain events may require you to build other characters due to ELEMENTS.

Day by day restrictions:

This is the most simple complain, level up domains for talents and weapons shouldn’t be locked behind certain days of the week. It’s just a simple as that.

A game where you have to level up these things to have a good experience, restricting it to 3 days a week is bad,

Especially when you have memory issues like me, and go to level something else, only to realise today was the one day I was available to do weapon level farming only for to have spent the resin on boss fights for levelling I can do any day

The skip button:

This one request has created so much discourse in the Genshin community and all I need to say is, a lack of a skip button kills want to play, when you are stuck doing a quest you don’t want to do but have to do as it gives primos or something else you need, and it stuck behind HOURS of cutscenes, it becomes horrible

Whats even more horrible is when you in the OPEN WORLD, explore the OPEN WORLD, and it throws you into a cutscene against your will. One time I was trying to explore and it threw me into a cutscene, then a battle it didn’t want to let me leave. That nearly made me drop the game as I was irritated after losing a 50/50 and was desperately trying to get primos due to having only a day left to try and get Nicole (who I never got sad face)

The excuse I’ve seen is “well people will skip the lore!” And…people already do that, adding a skip button won’t add more lore skippers, as people already skip the lore, don’t pay attention to the text, and do other things as they let the cut scenes auto play out.

And frankly if I can skip lore I don’t care for so I can get to lore I actually care for, it would make me enjoy it a lot more.

The lack of skip button has made multiple people drop the game. It’s not a good thing. Never has been.

SWANA rep:

Keeping it short for what I want to say as this is a very hard topic to discuss in this fandom without people defending it or playing dumb.

SWANA: parts of Africa + parts of Asia (do you’re own research)

The SWANA rep wouldnt have been considered as bad as it was if they added more darker skinned playable characters or made the white characters wear non orientalism based outfits. A lot of people agree if they did this a lot of the issues would be less of an issue.

What made the rep worse was some of the first darker skinned SWANA based characters were bad guys, that you had to fight.

Generally if genshin simply gave better outfits to characters and added more playable dark skinned characters a lot less people would have cared.

You can’t make nations based off of black and brown cultures and then ignore those black and brown culture in favour for orientalism.

Also acting as if orientalist isn’t bad, is part of normalising racism, racism that has been used to sexually harass SWANA, and worse. Orientalism plays a major part in rape culture when it comes to SWANA culture. It’s too much to discuss in a genshin post, there are quite a few good YouTube videos on the issue, or books, or blogs.

Misogyny/ character design / sexualisation:

This leads into my next part, and the part of #THAT video and #THAT videos response that annoyed me the most. Genshin has misogynistic writing and design at times, and if your way of saying “no it doesn’t” is by you saying “They’re not real, they can’t feel emotion” then congrats you’ve used one of the most common methods of defending misogyny there is.

Do I as a lesbian like it when women in video games are hot and get fanservice? Yes. Do I think Genshin has a higher percent of fan service of women then they do men, that focuses more on sexualising the women body to cater towards their male fanbase? Also yes.

We can admit we LIKE the fanservice while also ADMITTING the roots of it aren’t the best.

An example I saw of excusing fan service as “it’s not actually that much of fanservice! As the women body isn’t sexual, and you’re the one being misogynistic for sexualising it!” And no… the game sexualises the woman body. It does, we can admit that. It also at times sexualises the male body, but a lot less. The excuse of “well nuh uh, you’re the one sexualising women” doesn’t work when the women are designed with fan service in mind.

Another Defense I’ve seen is “if you’ve played real gooner games you’d know it isn’t a gooner game therefore not that sexual” and I’m sorry but the average player isn’t into hentai, and when they see genshin they think it’s sexual based because…they are normal people who aren’t online all the time and don’t play porn games.

You can admit the game adds suggestive poses, suggestive outfits, suggestive ideas to it without that being bad. It’s fine for a game to sexualise its characters.

The issue is the women get a lot more sexualised and experience worse character design then the men do due to that. Yes the men get fanservice in the game but it’s a lot less to the girls. The game is designed that way. It’s FINE to admit that.

I’m a lesbian I like the boobs showing, I’m fine with the women being hot, being put into more suggestive positions or clothes, but it’s stupid to say “actually it’s not meant to be sexual or suggestive at all! If you think it’s suggestive you’re the one who’s turning it that way!” That’s stupid so stupid, stop being stupid.

Worse example I saw of that was the weird feeder content and how people said “only feeders would think it’s feeder content” I’m sorry but the content was so weird and people thought it was so weird and such an obvious kink in genshin that is became a known issue OUTSIDE of genshin. I learned of the drama before I even started playing again because people were so weirded out by it… you can admit the creators added things into they liked. I add kinks and fetishies to my own works, comic writers have been adding the cuck fetish to their work since the beginning of comics, video games like genshin that rely on fan service to bring in momey spenders; do in fact add kinks and fetishies to their games in an implied way…because IT MAKES THEM MONEY, or simply because they like it.

The new nation is worse for this as the males we have seen in the nation are covered up, but all the women have more skin showing, and people defend it by going “Theyre fictional” they were made by real people, who made lore up so they could sexualise the women more. All I’m saying is if they got the men in the new nation in crop tops and mini skirts, no one would be complaining as much as they are right now

At the end of the day… #givethemgirlsomepantstheycold

The gambling:

My entire family has a generational issue of addiction, so I do in fact get more mad and emotional at this, I’ve had to restrict my spending on things as trust me as an adult with adult money I got VERY bad at not spending.

Genshin like every other gacha game is predatory.

They add restrictions, multiple steps to game play, and more to convince you to spend money, and if I’m being honest, if the game made me spend $80 to buy it one time and that’s it, I’d be fine.

But you have restricted resin, gambling on number of drops for materials on EVERYTHING, you have a known issue of everything costing too much mora so everyoje keeps running out, you have different level up materials for everything, you have a gambling system for artifacts, for champions, for EVERYTHING, the game is set up to make you spend money

I have watched whales spend $20,000+ on the game and still struggle. That’s when it becomes a massive issue.

I think what annoys me the most is genshin creating the desire for C6 characters, and R5 weapons, while putting them on 50/50 banners that take 90 rolls and 80 rolls, only unlocking soft pity at 75 for characters

For context in Australian dollars: that is about $220 (ish) for 90 pulls, on average if you WIN all your 50/50’s to c6 a character, it would cost up to $1540 for one character. This is minus the weapon, minus 50/50 losses. Or you can grind…which genshin purposely gives you barely any primos for…to encourage you to spend money

And I’m sick of people pretending genshin doesn’t give weak primo rewards. Recently they tried to get genshin players to do their online roblox rip off…by offering to give you less than 2 pulls if you log in multiple days in a row. TWO PULLS.

Genshin heavily encourages gambling, and it punishes you with hours and hours of grinding just to get characters, weapons, artifacts, talents, and more.

This is an issue. A big one.

The cost of things:

Like I said to C6 a character if you win every 50/50 would be over $1540

Or how I said resin is 40 per boss, 20 per artifact domain

Or how everything costs Mora that gets so expensive you can lose millions that took you days to get from leveling one characters thinfs

Or how books require grinding and how you need them

Or how it takes multiple days to farm every single flower, bug, or other drop for characters just to level them

Or how characters have enemy drops that are limited every day, you have a chance of not getting an enemy drop

Or…

Okay the point is had.

I don’t mind grinding for a few days, but this repeated cycle that is clearly to convince you to spend money in the game, it is annoying. Like I said I wouldn’t mind spending…if the game cost a flat $80 to even flat $120 (lot of games in Australia getting up there in price lol) I wouldn’t mind.

I also think I wouldn’t mind if AUSTRALIAN PING wasn’t so bad. I cannot join CO-OP worlds 50% of the time, my ping is too bad for that. My game crashes and lags due to the ping.

Newer champions relying on set teams:

Ehh this is less of an issue. Bennett Dave’s the day 9/10.

But this is part of the gambling issue and money spending issues that genshin players I believe started noticing over a year ago, new champions began relying less on elemental reactions and more on spefific 5 star characters in specific teams.

I don’t mind it too much as they are buffing 4 star champions and buffing a lot of old champions like Qiqi. So it is something they seem to be addressing! But I hope it gets addressed a little more…this is me asking for more buffs as my banner luck is terrible

Lore:

My only issue with the lore is the fact a lot of older champions have had less time to shine as they started off when the game was starting off, missions used to be a lot more like 2 hours…now it’s more like 6 to hours. That’s all

But the issue is fine as you have story/character quests, you have event quests, you have hangout quests, and as quests go on they bring back old characters and give them a chance to shine!

I think a few lore things in recent drag too much but for me I believe it is due to fatigue from being a free to play who has to sit through it for hours when I just want to do one pull on a banner. It’s personal opinion it changes from person to person u3u

I hope when the games main lore wraps up which we get closer to every update we get a chance to see more from old characters, especially due to the theory we may wrap back around to mondstadt towards the end!

Fandom:

I tried to avoid it, it’s very hard at times, even when I wasn’t in the fandom I was seeing people talk about it, it was a lot of negative rightfully so, the issues with racism, the issues with misogyny, the issues with fans not being listened to and the greed was all valid

But also, I have played nearly every day for months now, my entire map is opened, I now have level 90s, I’ve created OC’s for it, and I have subscribed to multiple YouTubers to watch them play.

Genshin has a lot of concerns and issues, but I still love playing the game. Many off the issues can be fixed.

The fandom needs to admit that though. I see too many fans refusing to admit it, I see fans refusing to admit their faults, I’ve seen fans not realise they have a bias and get angry over things they shouldn’t.

Hell #that video, proved it. The fans were so quick to jump many valid takes the lady had, calling her misogynist while defending genshin by defending misogyny and downplaying misogyny. It was hypocritical in its nature. But we as humans are hypocritical. And a lot of that ladies takes were bad…very bad so I’m not defending her either.

Lesser issues /takes:

-I don’t like a few of the areas, mostly the tech based areas, and areas that are usually storming. It’s an issue easy to avoid as multiple regions don’t have that, but everytime I come across them I roll my eyes and walk off. I am avoiding the story missions i accidentally accepted in those regions as I don’t want to go near them LOL

-I think some of the characters are cringey!…but i can just ignore them, And I play a few I find cringey…with voices turned off, I am not very tolerant of cringe…but a lot of people are

-The 4 stars on banners make me want to jump… I’m not just saying this because I got 5 freminets, 2 Diana’s, and ONLY ONE beidou when I was trying to C farm beidou due to her buffs…totally not just saying it because of that

-I lost a 50/50 to Mona and I think they should remove Mona from the game as she personally only exists to spite me

-the child models not having a boy model and being used for characters who are of the “but she’s over 100 years old” annoys me especially when other hoyo games that that issue further showing less innocent intent…but I will never get into that as I will be jumped by sewer dwellers

Lesser issue: the “queer baiting” to me can be annoying butx1 it’s due to my privillage of being in Australia and butx2 I think the fandom forgets that queer media in China is censored, and often times illegal to show. The fact genshin does “queer baiting” is actually incredibly good and sweet and it shows the company wants to add representation and is pushing limits for it. To get mad at there using queer baiting (which isn’t even the right term really) is to not understand you are privileged enough to exist in an area of the world where the media is allowed to exist.

For genshin to even imply queerness in a way most players understand shows they mean for there to be rep, and they are doing the best they can, given their situation.

Hoyo is a Chinese company, China has different laws and regulations. To see queer baiting as a “real issue” while you aren’t even fighting for queer Chinese people to have more safety and security is performative.

Final take

I have always believed the best way to enjoy a game is to admit its flaws and to admit nothing is perfect, just like any media. I will keep playing the game, and I think the best thing about admitting its flaws in my eyes, is the fact that despite these flaws I still play it, which means it’s doing something good enough to keep me around, especially when I haven’t spent money on the game, and have nearly quit a few times but chose to stay.

I think admitting the flaw has massive flaws is also important to make sure genshin listens and changes.

And like I always do, and you should do, when genshin asks for your advice in those surveys don’t just skip it, but ask for better SWANA rep, a skip button, and better considerations for resin, and more.

It may never work in creating a change…but it also might work and that’s the hope you have to have.

Small edit- seeing a lot of people not understanding what grooming is, and how grooming works in the Gachia fandom, so before anything happens, please do not in any circumstances bring up my post for your drama, as the topic of tamsy/grooming is coming up a lot right now, and I don’t want to be involved in drama, as a grooming victim this is all my opinion backed up by other grooming victims, if you disagree discuss it here on this post, not vaguing it, or spreading it to hate on the take. There are different types of grooming, different definitions of grooming, different ways of grooming, please research them before commenting on it.

Through reading and watching Gachiakuta it is my time to return to Analysis, this is not a space to critic the characters or writing but to discuss them, their meanings, their reasons. I always enjoy stories that have deeper meanings, that follow deep paths and do it carefully, to have a well written story and to have it portray such meaning is so important

Gachiakuta bio:

On the surface when people reccomend you to read the story, one of the most common explanations is it’s a story about not giving up, grief, and recycling, find ways to reuse old misshaped and broken materials, to make them into something beautiful, even if it’s their last act, allowing their last act to me meaningful.

Of course explained more simply. They will also if knowing how to safely reccomend things, warn you of the topics of SA, abuse, and such, to allow for you to chose if you are ready to experience such a watch or read.

ANIME ONLY:

A basic summary: the grief of a child who is not taught therapy

Rudo is our main character of the series, he is around the age of 15, spending his time going through different processes of life. The main process is learning from grief, the main theme of Rudos characters. It is not what I would describe moving on from grief, one does not move on from grief, they learn from it and change their perspective, it will change the way you are and creates a butterfly affect of all your actions moving forward even if the path diverges. Rudo has all his actions good and bad come from his processing of grief, and his learning from grief.

He is a boy who has an unknown mother, and a criminal father, neither present in his life at any stage we see, instead he has his father that he would consider his real father despite being not biological related Regto. Regto raises rudo from seemingly a young age, teaching him about the world, teaching him coping mechanisms, and how to live. Regto is responsible for his love for many things, when Regto is killed in front of him, he loses his only family, and his only therapist. When he seeks help from friends and crushes they abandon him, believing lies spread over the truth. Leaving him to have no one in his circle. It creates a violent child, one angry at the world, seeking to show the world revenge, in the form of becoming his father. Because if he is labelled as such, he shall become such.

Soon after Enjin appears to help save him, bringing him to the cleaners, Rudo is put off from the help, treating them as all a means to get his way, to create violence, the only issue becoming that Cleaners are not fighters, even if they were fighters their jobs aren’t to fight, it’s to clean, keep people safe, and avoid people getting in harms way.

Rudo is thrown into a group of people who will listen to him, tell him what isn’t and is okay again, and they as a group have become a more stable therapy for rudo. A community saved a child, something often not reflected in the real world. Rudo due to his status above was casted aside the way many real children are. Only getting lucky by the fate of fiction to find good people again.

But these real people don’t know his drama, or him. Except for one (manga section) they see a broken child they are mostly suspicious of due to him surviving from his fall, and from him being from such a different community, despite that these people have been taught respect, trust, and learning. Giving rudo a chance to become part of them even if he at the time refuses to be fully a part of it.

Rudo never experiences a real therapist, he is a child whos therapist is his family. Although at times a toxic situation, it is something that helps him become family with his peers, a therapist is family, and a family is a therapist. When they show him a chance of helping him, he gains two communities he lost in one shot.

Rudo and making broken items useful:

Rudo learns he can make any item into his Jinki, (special instrument) through experimenting he can do it once through a mega one, or 3 times through 3 small Jinkis, leading to a situation of extra grief. When his brother like figure nearly died and Rudo assumes he will die, his grief overtakes him, making him wonky, but also showing how grief can be good.

Through his grief he uses an item important to his brother figure, to allow his brother to get a big moment around one of his big cares, while making sure it doesn’t go to waste, making it into something beautiful, and when it’s time is up for being useful, it leaves.

It teaches rudo to stay holding on to his love of his friends and family, that his ability to love is strong and important, while his need for things to be good, can in fact me good, and that it’s good to hold onto some important things but also let go of other things. Some things need to go, and it’s fine for it to go, if you have good use for the thing, and help it impact things well, it wouldn’t have been for nothing.

Manic angry grief:

Rudo’s first response to grief is shock then anger, he is unable to rest and handle his unset over his father dying in front of him, he is punished, kidnapped, nearly trafficked, thrown into a new place with new people, new cultures and new traditions he doesn’t understand, with new living requirements. It’s an unwelcoming environment for processing grief, leaving him unable to treat it normally. Leading to Amo

Amo’s play in Rudos angry Grief:

Amo is experiencing her own grief and her own toxic ways of dealing with it, she is around Rudos age and experiencing a similar issue to him, her caretaker died, while it wasn’t by Rudos hands for him, it was for her. She is experiences the trauma of having to start to process being sold to a violent sex trafficker so disgusting even other traffickers do not like him. How she has been raped by him and convinced for most her pre teen to teen life that it was okay. All after accidentally killing him due to her own manic anger.

Through this experience she tries to hide away from reality, believing lying on the truth is better than real life, she believes everyone should get to experience this distance. Causing her to harm and on part of her fault try to almost kill many of Rudos friends and Rudo. Having been part of the reasom for their death if it was not for the temporary Tattoo casts.

She had a violent life, and in return was violent, leading to more violence, when you see that situation it is not something that can be handled with more violence. It is something that needs to be handled carefully. All the cleaners through experience know this fact, except for rudo. They all want to approach her more calmly, knowing how violence will do more harm to an already damaged child.

Rudo is completely unaware of this fact. He is angry himself, he sees her being violent and believes violence will get it out, punish her, and reward him, except it doesn’t happen. His first punch is seen as slightly justified after she used mocking words even after nearly killing him, then the punches after are violent. Too violent. Rudo is forced to stop and take a breathe, forced to deal with what he has done and why it isn’t fine. Enjin becomes his father in this moment, helping him in ways that get him to understand how his processing of grief and angry is unhealthy. So he makes an apology, learns her story, and tries to start a non violent root from this.

The grief of anger but learning:

Rudo leaves well with Amo, and then finds out she’s been kidnapped, falsely assuming it was the Raiders, in his anger he becomes more violent, but learns to harvest it into something better, when losing hope he is shown his friends and family are there to stay, and that having a community with real support is better than building a false community built on building delusions and lies.

It shows his learning state of realising what is and isn’t okay, realising he’s allowed to form deep connections with people again, and learn to become something better with it, he’s still angry, but he’s accepting he can be angry, but he needs to change his anger into something else, something meaningful. An important part of grief.

Zanka:

Zanka has a different form of grief, he is a child to a family that hates his guts, hates his ideas, and hates his loves, he grew up needing to be the best, becoming the best, becoming too comfortable and then falling into severe grief when he was no longer perfect.

He is in a metaphorical and literal deep hole. He can’t see what makes him great, he can’t see that despite not being the best, he is still amazing, he has the grief he will never be perfect and therefore never enough. In the cleaners he still struggles, still even in the Manga, he keeps getting put against people he can’t beat, over and over again, proving his point again and again.

Yet in that grief he has a family helping him, a found family. His process is slow, after seemingly a while he is still griefing what he could have been, and could have done, it’s a story of grief taking time to overcome, and not just being violent, sometimes “cocky” and “too much” or “sad”.

The art scene:

Rudo wants to comfort Remlin, due to remlin feeling extremely upset over being in trouble, he has worries and a grievance on not being the right person, and although Zanka struggles to follow his own advice, he gives advice to rudo to just do it, that he could be the right or wrong person but he won’t know it until it happens, and no matter what if he doesn’t try he won’t be anything.

Rudo tries, and in the process helps Remlin through a small grievance. While using it to cope with his own grief, trying to draw his own father Regto, despite his skills not being the best. Processing grief through a real form of therapy. Art therapy. It’s a form of therapy that helps regulate emotions, and get them out, something he does through his own actions of wanting to draw it. Although Zanka told him to help Remlin, no one told him to draw his father, he started to take the steps on his own to heal. An important step.

You cannot heal unless you want to heal yourself.

The story of grief present in the anime:

The overall theme of the anime gets portrayed through these many states, it shows the states of grief, how different people process grief, and the right ways to go through grief, the topic of grief and its ways are broad, shown to be big and different for different people, showing different ways it affects people. It’s a story that heavily shows all sides of grief, the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly. It tells a story of how to help yourself and how to get help from others, while showing it can be a quick or slow process.

Grooming: Amo

This is only a short section as it will be covered more in the manga spoiler section. Amo is a victim of grooming, her groomer is a sexual predator adult male she kills, yet she is meant to parallel Rudo. Rudo and her struggle with grief, and anger similar to each other though in very different ways. That’s where people believe the parallel ends. It does not.

Manga spoilers:

Tamsy.

Tamsy as a character is a main antagonist but not in a normal way, he has not been seen in the manga for 9 months as of writing this, he is a character who is a antagonist on the side, he starts the story off, and he stays in the story but he is on the side. Like many people are. And this is when the issue of a big warning comes into play.

I love tamsy’s character, I love the way he is written, the way in Japanese he switched pronouns, has a female based Jinki, and is hinted to be absolutely crazy and hiding things even to this day from the audience. All while having downright deadly gear to change the path of stories. A gaslighting tool that isn’t just himself but an item he carries.

Tamsy kills Rudos father figure, having seemed to stalk rudo for a long enough time to know it would shatter him. He proceeds to kidnap Amo, knowing the affect it will cause rudo. He then proceeds to help Amo, and help rudo, and be a helping hand.

And this is where the warning comes, this next part is about my belief Tamsy has grooming behaviour, as far to say is a groomer, it is not in so much a sexual sense, there is different forms of grooming, but tamsy as a character gaslights, manipulates and is treated as a great person all while purposely changing parts of children’s lives, to force the children to go down certain paths. He is therefore. A groomer.

I love his character and everything about him. But this is a topic to be discussed, many have slightly discussed it, but I have not seen people brave enough to discuss it. Due to the nuance it takes.

Grooming:

Positioning of bodies:

In the best way to describe this. Tamsy knew that Amo was a sex trafficking rape victim. He is the one that gave her, her boots, knowing she was in trouble. He did not give her real help, get her out of the situation or any of that. But he knowing this information before anyone else. When getting her in his Jinki position her in an extremely upsetting way, many get uncomfortable with her positioning, especially due to her clothes.

It’s the best way to describe the way he does the positioning is intentional. And also a violent mockery of her suffering. Something he continues to do by trying to convince people she’s delusional/crazy and did not see anyone fly like an angel past the barrier, despite being the one to do that.

His positioning of her body, is that or a violent one, not one he would find sexual pleasure from, but still sadistic pleasure. He is aware of her situation, and treats it almost like a joke, and a dollhouse situation he can play with, made worse when he despite kidnapping her is the one to give her, her shoes

This is also made worse when he kidnaps her, he taunts her with food, driving her mad, all while forcing her into a gaslighted state of not knowing it was him, despite her seeing his face, hearing his voice, and experiencing the trauma due to his actions. Her positioning in this although that of a common prisoner, is that of one becoming worse when refusing to help her dress properly, leaving her in a mostly undressed, sexualised outfit, that her groomer and rapist had for her. Especially when she is processing being raped and groomed by someone she thought loved her properly,

Becoming a safe person:

Tamsy doesn’t just observe from a distance, he helps the children he harms, causing a form of love bombing to happen. He makes them feel safe and secure, he gives Amos her boots back, he becomes someone that is a “good guy to trust”, he gaslights the children he is harming into believe there is less harm with him, becoming a safe figure when knowing he is very much in it to harm them.

Rudo:

Tamsy has been stalking rudo since rudo was a young child, have enough knowledge that killing Regto could cause him to snap over the edge, tamsy due to a twisted idea of love, wants rudo to snap. He treats it as love. As him loving rudo in some way. This is never confirmed to be family/friend/romantic like, at the most no matter how it is meant to be by rudo, is a love that results in him gaslighting/killing/love bombing/and causing general harm for Rudo.

Tamsy changes parts of Rudos life to harm rudo, for “love”, he kills Rudos father Regto, in the name of “love” he kidnaps Amo to push rudo, he then helps Amo and Rudo to gain their trust, and to harm rudo in the future. He becomes familiar and close with certain Cleaners as a way to find out how to harm rudo. He is annoyed when Rudos family, and therefore his therapy helps him through something he considers of sorts a bullshit version of MLP “friendship is magic”. At times he slips but barely enough for it to be noticeable enough. He is what groomers are and does what groomers do, and shows how they get away with it but in a magical sense.

He is directly doing things to rudo for “love”, and to cause rudo a “loving” form of harm. Wanting rudo to snap and become something bigger. Something if going with the god imagery/wording/and ideas of the story including with even Tamsys last name (Caine), he wants rudo to almost become god like, that is the current take by the fandom.

He stabbed “Abel” (Regto) in order for “love” to happen, in a form of utterly ruining Rudo mentally enough to change. Not stopping until it will change, willing to take a long route of “letting” rudo get friends and family. Just so he can harm them to tear rudo down. He believes he has a control over rudo, that lets him in a sense “own” rudo. Becoming a dangerous predator. And an amazing antagonist.

The healing journey

The process itself is still being shown in the manga like many other things, it’s an important part from the start, Rudo is learning to heal properly and how that is done, it is my belief that the progress of healing will lead to Tamsy failing to reach his goal. His goal itself is to rip rudo from healing, so when he becomes unsuccessful and Rudo meets that journey it will destroy one of the main hidden antagonists of the story, especially due to tamsy seeming to want to make rudo become a god, while they are currently fighting someone trying to become a god! I believe it shows him becoming less and less willing to be an angry griefing child, and maturing…even if he has to become a furry for that (joking)

After thought:

There are many other things in the manga that go over grief and such! But I have written for so long and need to really eat something. I do believe that my belief is just my own and some of my friends, but due to a passion in certain fields I feel I have at least some understanding to know what I’m talking about.

If you love tamsy it’s fine xoxo, I love his character himself and believe he’s extremely well written, and if you hate tamsy, don’t attack tamsy fans xoxo

Every time I have the chance I make sure to draw something from an anime he likes, haven’t taken photos the last time, but this is a way to help encourage him and make him feel better. It’s my own way of helping him through his journey and making sure he knows he always has someone to help him. He was real excited about the second season of Sakamoto days releasing its first episode so.

Just saw someone call Xina an alcoholic to hate on her and they purposely used the Xina Kwan tag causing Xina fans to see it😐. Literally are you trying to get attacked by her fans. what happened to fandom respect and etiquette. Mind you most Xina fans are autistic a lot of us have hyperfixations/special interests relating to her so it’s extra nasty because it hurts on an emotional level to alot of people

Gabriel leaving changes depending on how you want it to emotionally impact Miguel, to me he’d leave AFTER his “end of world” BPD episode, if he is to do it during a BPD episode he is not to be taken seriously about his decision by others, as he was mentally not there.

Gabriel would leave similar to how he leaves at the end of 92, at the very end, after all the bad things, because Miguel going into a new comic series is trying to find Gabriel, meaning he won’t do stupid things, and he won’t get severely suicidal due to Gabriel leaving.

He wants to find Gabriel, but also is having distraction and reunions, talking again to Xina, confronting doom, etc

Miguel O’Hara: story analysis

General trigger warning for SA/Grooming/childhood SA/drugging, if it’s too triggering please have a good day and keep yourself safe instead of reading :)

This piece comes from a grooming victim, so I have a bit of insight of certain topics, everything is written with care. (I hope)

Rambling a lot!!!

There is a general story told in Miguel O’Hara’s spiderman series, one of him being spiderman of course, the new one, but also one of how his life isn’t his, how his story is one of SA. This was more recently ignored and changed by PAD in order to make him more like Peter Parker, treating his deep adult issues as more goofy “haha spiderman!” Things instead of what they are. That will be addressed. Like always this is a part ramble, part think piece.

Miguel from the start does not have his own life, from the day Conchata is pregnant with him, his life was planned out, he wouldn’t be her son, or George’s, he wouldn’t be a person, he would be the toy of Tyler Stone, the moment he was born was the moment he was groomed, he never had a choice, never had a way out, never got a chance to even try to run. Tyler planned to groom him into what he was. It’s made clear.

Miguel from the start became smart, not so much by his own will but because he was expected to, by George, an abusive alcoholic. He got into the Alchemax school for gifted children, not because he wanted to but because George set it up, but Tyler/Conchata had it planned. (Most likely)

From how Miguel is written it could be assumed that he would have rather been beaten while protecting Gabriel then having to go to that school, but had the fear or being nothing, and being beaten worse if he didn’t, he’s scared of his family, scared of failure, scared of George, and Tyler. Scared of not following orders.

In his Childhood, Tyler was distant but groomed him from the side, by all means it was known early on that Kron had a Personality disorder which made him Anti-social, what disorder? Unknown and will not be guessed upon as that would villainise people with the disorder. From my personal point of view, Kron was the child meant to be Tyler’s best but Tyler moved onto Miguel quickly due to Tyler seeing it as a waste to try with Kron anymore. It could be shown that Kron sense of the world changed due to Tyler, and Krons later behaviours were that of a Groomer, and of course SA’er in the future.

Tyler while knowing Kron had a personality disorder or just ignoring it, taught him the behaviour of going after women, Tyler had been divorced many times, he had many women, Tyler taught him to have power over people and to use that against them. By all means Kron became what he was due to Tyler. HENSE why Tyler is even worse in this. Tyler on accident created an abuser, that would do exactly what Tyler did, but more publicly.

Going into this is to not explain Krons actions or defend him but to say that the general theme of SA, has so many roots linking back to each other. Kron goes on to SA Miguel’s first girlfriend (at the time best friend) miguel walks in on this, stops it, gets nearly killed, There is no doubt what happened to Xina was indeed SA, it was just the only form of SA they may have been allowed to show, Xina is naked and Kron holding a knife is forcing her to take her towel off, it’s implied that so much worse would have happened to Xina if Miguel didn’t arrive.

I won’t go much into this though as from my point of view PAD wrote a SA story in this to make a man a savour of a woman, (or boy saving girl) the way it was handled wasn’t well. Even if it’s important to how Miguel’s story has SA, and seems to be a story about SA.

The next time he is assaulted in a way that brings into the question of SA and hidden meanings is Raptor, Tyler is Miguel’s groomer, Tyler admits as much verbally, Tyler drugs Miguel to keep control of him, he does something an abusive groomer would do, he makes Miguel believe miguel is reliant on him even-though he isn’t and never was. Miguel didn’t take enough of the drugs for it to affect him, but Tyler convinces him otherwise, an abuse tactic similar to real abuse tactics. “You can’t leave, you need me! Due to a lie!”

Some see this as an allegory for SA, I do too, specially when the rest of his story is the way it is.

The next time which isn’t SA but it’s important to the SA, and how his life isn’t his own, is him becoming spiderman, Aaron mad at him forcefully tried to kill him in a way that forces him to become spiderman against his will, he attempts to escape his groomer Tyler, and as a result becomes what he sees as a monster not worth living, in his attempt to escape he falls deeper into himself, deeper into an emotional pit he can’t escape, his life isn’t his, when he tries to make it his own, it fails, it always fail, he will never escape, what is the point?

He then as spiderman gets SA’ed, a villain forcefully kisses him, he doesn’t want it, he needs to get her off and he does so in a way that only him, spiderman could do. Paralysing her with his fangs, this moment sucked as it was less treated like SA and just as a 1990s comic thing, but it also…was amazing, Miguel’s escape from himself that he believed failed in a way helped him, that’s good accidental story telling. You also have the thing of how a victim might go “it worked but it only happened due to!” As Miguel only got SA’ed due to being spiderman, but he got saved due to being spiderman, meaning there is a major conflict, yes his attempt to save himself failed then failed again but it helped? But it only helped due to another failure? Keeping him trapped.

The next time we see SA/Grooming in the comics, is to do with Dana, everyone doesn’t like her specially for this, but there is one thing to note, Dana was a 23 year old fiancé to a grooming victim, that grooming victims, groomer wanted sex out of her, when being 50+, not only is there an age gap so big it can call into questions on if it okay, but he is a extremely rich business man (power inbalance) and someone that actively was still grooming Miguel, you could see Tyler doing this as a way to try and trap and hurt Miguel more + grooming Dana, and that’s what it should be treated as! Even if Tyler “fell in love” with Dana, it came from a bad place. And there was NOT proper consent.

The next time SA is an issue is when Kron comes back as Venom, he kidnaps Dana and Xina, making nasty remarks, some remarks which can be taken as even sexual jokes, Xina was SA’ed by him as a child, and now he becomes nasty again, he reopens wounds, and in the process hurts Dana/Xina/Miguel.

The story ends soon after for the 1992 run, but continues within the 2015 run, Miguel’s girlfriend tempest once again is a victim of SA, I don’t know much about it so I won’t go into it, but then Miguel is a victim of SA AGAIN, getting forcefully kissed and forced into a position he never wanted to be in as a lady forces him to be in it otherwise he risks being exposed for who he is (a future spiderman)

Miguel’s story runs heavy with SA themes, grooming themes, and is overall a sad story about a victim, a victim who later gets treated like a joke and treated like he should never have existed by the people that created him. What is worse is…the new comics

Miguel teaming up with Kron: we all know it, we all hate it, PAD ruined Miguel, he made it known Miguel still had his own mind when befriending Kron, and Kron only maybe a week prior had canonly killed Dana, and…once again Miguel saw Kron SA Xina, he then for a bit treated Kron like a better brother than Gabriel.

This could have been written so much better, victims attach to their abusers, you could logically in character find a way to get Miguel to work with Kron, as Miguel is a victim his whole life, Miguel was groomed by Krons father, Kron got his behaviour from his father.

PAD could have written an abuse victim getting an unhealthy attachment to an abuser after tragically losing Dana, and going through all the abuse, as victims do that. But he chose to be disgusting. And to write Miguel poorly. Like always.

So like always, Miguel can’t have it his way, he can’t even have his personality without the writers changing it to make him less him. He has never been in control, and never will, his story is sad, and it’s one of so much tragedy.

2099 Manifest destiny!

Though Xina and Miguel aren’t seen together too much it is very much shown they are a married couple who grow old together

After a long day of doing the fundraiser, over $200 was made in cash! $247.10 made in total, with a few people making donations in our name though we don’t know how much they made, I saw so many lovely people, a beautiful older Irish woman came by, same with Arab couples that seemed so excited to help raise money along with relieved someone in the area was so openly supporting Gaza as it’s hard to come by in this location sadly. With plenty of support from others as well. It was a good day

Xina Kwan x Miguel o’hara

For the 1992-1995 spiderman 2099 comics, and the world of tomorrow 2099 comics that followed.

Welcome back to me rambling in a way that probably doesn’t make sense

Miguel x Xina is one of my comfort ships, something I love, it’s flawed, but beautiful, it tells a story that the writers no longer want to show which is upsetting, it’s flawed loved of two people who care for each other deeply but cannot bring themself to be together, one is self destructive, while one seeks for ways to help. A relationship to its core doomed to fail.

The first time we ever see Xina is when she is that of what we can assume to be around 12-13, both her and Miguel were young students attending school together, two people that would later stick together and not befriend anyone else that we can see, and from the very starts it’s love at first sight for Miguel, you can see with the way it’s drawn to the plot that falls that Miguel falls instantly In love, and it can be argued that Xina also fell in love, or at least let Miguel flirt without being uncomfortable. He gives her a glance, and turns his head to follow her as she does the same before they officially talk.

Later on it’s straight away to flirting, asking to go to the pool, a possible sign of trying to get what a child may consider a date in a way. They spend the rest of their school years friends, and helping each other, it appears that even if both In love, they decided to take it slow, become friends, then best friends, then lovers, a way to build up a healthy and trusting relationship, a relationship that shows Miguel waited years to be with Xina, waited years for her.

This is what I consider deep love, a love that movie, craved but also feared, a love he had to destroy in order to destroy himself

The next time we see Miguel with Xina is when he is moving into his alchemax apartment (it appears), which due to the way we assume Xina is, and how she is in general, even if she went to an Alchemax school, she doesn’t really like Alchemax, yet would do things in support of Miguel working there, she saw flaws in his design and yet hang on, because she loved him, it’s then hinted that they of course did it, but it also shows one of Miguel’s biggest flaws when it comes to Xina, he loves her, but waits too long to learn about her. In later times he learns what she likes, what she does, but here it’s shown that he didn’t even known his best friend had gotten a tattoo of her favourite real life person, something he would have known because they are seen to be best friends that stick together.

Which brings up the issue and possibly why their relationship ended so soon, yes Miguel definitely found Dana attractive, and was emotionally cheating in front of Xina, but at his core he wasn’t ready to be a good partner, he wasn’t ready for a healthy commitment, he couldn’t even properly care for what Xina loved, even after knowing her since they were basically pre-teens. Miguel was not a good man at this time, he’s he waited for Xina for years, but he was too much of a bad person to hold onto her after finally getting her,

You also take into consideration that he is self destructive, he loves Xina more than anything and therefore he had to destroy it fast, he had to find another fast to destroy what he had, he had waited years for a woman, he has her, now he has to get rid of her in a way she will never want him back, how does he do that? Cheating. Emotionally first, and then physically.

When we end up seeing them again it’s because LYLA is broken, LYLA who resembled Xina in the way of it being based off of her tattoo, Miguel doesn’t care for Marilyn Monroe herself, he cares for the fact she is xinas tattoo, hence him only now caring for xina’s interests, caring too late. He becomes desperate to fix her because she is in his way a way to be close to Xina without havent to be near her, he loves Xina, but he can’t return, he messed it up too much on purpose. Though that ends fast as he soon learns that the best person to go to, to fix LYLA is Xina, which could possibly also be seen as an excuse to see Xina again. Once let in the first thing he does is go to her bedroom, to remember the old times, to live in the past, the past he craves but can’t get anymore.

You also see that Xina who is still single and assumed to have stayed single after Miguel, still loves and misses him, her bedside photo is them together. She loves him, she wants him, but she hates him as of now.

Within this time we also see Jack, Xinas Android, Miguel mistakes him for a partner, and seems to be almost jealous, upset. More signs he still loves her even if engaged to Dana, you also see Xina making it clear she doesn’t want him there and hates him, but she doesn’t kick him out, and it’s clear as much as she was uncomfortable, she cared enough to listen, cared enough to help, and of course we know this was going to happen, as even if she claims she just wanted to see him “crawling back” as a joke, it’s clear from the photo in her room, that she wanted him back deeply.

When she talks to Miguel many things are clear, one she is lying about things and two she is desperate to be the one he needs the most, even if she doesn’t want to make that clear.

She lies when talking about why they dated she claims it’s because she felt sorry for Miguel, but once again her photo in her room proves that wrong, along side the fact that she caught Miguel cheating as she came home early to be with him and to make him happy, she deeply cared for him, it was never about his dad, it was always about their love.

You also see how she is almost trying to push him away and is mocking his fiancé, Miguel doesn’t stop her, almost as if he wants her to insult Dana, because truthfully he doesn’t care for Dana the way he should, he cares for her as he loves her as she is what he considered dumb, someone that can’t question him, someone that blindly follows. Yet he sees Xina as smart, independent, and important to him, he loves that about her, yet is also scared about that. Because it means she can help him see his errors, and he doesn’t want to be shown, he wants to remain blind

Next one I want to talk about is this comic panel, you see that Miguel is finally caring for her interests, he is taking the time to get her real old things such as a gumball machine, because he knows she loves it, he is caring enough finally, he knows what she likes, what she want, why she wants it, he cared for her deeply and after years is finally showing it. Only now

next bit in this panel Miguel mentions the fact he was going to end it, he directly tells Xina he is planning to end it in a way, and Xina instead of making a joke, instead of being her nasty self she has been a few times, instead asks him to join her on a trip. Alone. She cares for him enough that she is literally wanting to spend time alone with him as a way to possibly keep him alive but to also reconnect, something that shows her deep love for him, and deep need for him, and also just the fact she is a great friend. These are two people stuck in a bad world they suffer in that still care for each other deeply.

I am bringing up a scene we end up seeing soon into their trip together, a flashback to Kron attempting to harm Xina, this is poorly written and used as a way to show Miguel and Leon’s hate for each other, they directly use Xina getting SA’ED as a way to push two boys fighting. This is no doubt disgusting writing.

But in the sight of this being about Miguel and Xina it has to be bought up in the way that Xina would put himself in danger, and put his family at risk, risk being abused by George, risk loosing everything, risk possibly even being killed by George, to keep Xina safe, he before now refused to fight back, refused to lay a finger on Kron as he was scared for himself and his family. He was frightened, yet he risked it all for Xina. He did at a point nearly bail on Xina, he was scared the worse would happen to him, but in the end he Kepler her. He kept her safe, even if it was poorly written and should have been shown in a different way that didn’t make a man the savour of a woman facing SA

Nor that’s over we get into the venom arc, the arc where Kron as venom attacks Xina and Dana to get to Miguel, something that reveals Miguel’s even deeper connection to Xina, he out of impulse screams for Xina, he is more worried for her, though he is still very worried for Dana, in this he has to save both, he only successfully saves Xina, and Dana passes away, this isn’t used for shipping Xina and Miguel, in fact Xina ends up leaving. This is shown as a way to show their friendship only, they don’t get together, as they both mentally can’t, Miguel lost his fiancé even if he wasn’t the best partner, and Xina had survivors guilt, she hates herself for hating the woman that slept with her boyfriend, a woman who hates her interests (shown by how she hates Gabriel’s retro interests) she so ends up leaving, I can argue that this was the best ending for the comic, until Miguel and Xina returned later. They both weren’t mentally stable, they both yes loved each other, but they would have ruined each other if they tried again.

The next time we see Xina is when she is happy to see Miguel, even slightly seeming to mess around, she cares for Miguel still, and Miguel still cares for her, but she has seemed to move on, she doesn’t care for a relationship, she has a job to do, people to help, and tech to work on, but yet she is still close to Miguel, she still holds onto Miguel, she still in a way loves him, even if as of now that love is platonic, and the same can be said for Miguel, he is trying to find Gabriel, he doesn’t have time for trying to get with Xina,on top of that but they only see each other for what can be assumed to be less than 24/7’S, they aren’t ready to try again, it’s too quick, and the story handles that well, it doesn’t make them a couple, it makes them friends, who still may have feelings for each other.

In the end they end up leaving, Xina just had her best friend did, and Miguel still needs to find Gabriel, they never end up together, from there on Xina stops showing up, she doesn’t appear in canon at all, she is gone from Miguel’s life, if we don’t count time storm a non canon story; it has been nearly I believe 27 years since she was last since.

It is a bitter sweet ending to her story, and she doesn’t get seen again, but it’s also a bittersweet ending to Miguel’s orginal love life for 2099, after that they force him into Peter Parker’s love interests within stories, or he gets tempest from the past, not his time, which I still love, she just isn’t from comics I read. For the year 2099, for the future Miguel has no life without Xina, he is stuck literally and metaphorically in the past.

I would love to Xina come back, she is considered Miguel’s MJ, the endgame, the person he loves more than anything, and really when you see the writing, when you see what was done, that is completely true, it was written that they were doomed lovers, but they could easily become good partners with time and effort, and if Miguel stops being self destructive

In the end they didn’t work due to Miguel’s self harm, and due to the fact Xina wouldn’t deal with what which is good for her. But if Miguel gets therapy…maybe. They could work.

Over all good doomed lover plot, painful for everyone that wanted them together forever such as myself
