Went back on to TV Tropes to find some FFN fanfic links I used to like and my gosh can people shut up with their naysaying about other peopleâs fics in the recs sections.
Seeing all the nonsense coming out of the Heated Rivalry fandom:
I'm going to have a rant. This might get long, and some of you might not agree with what I have to say but I need to say it.
So I've been in fandom and writing fanfic for over 20 years now, and I just feel like there needs to be a huge reminder to:
USE SOME MANNERS FOR GODS SAKE!
I am so fucking sick of commenting on something about a fic I wrote and all of the comments are just "give it to me đ«ŽđŒ" It's not cute, it's rude. Maybe take some initiative and click on the authors profile/blog and you'll see that it's linked there, and if it's not, take an extra 5 seconds of your day to search it on AO3. If you have the fandom, characters, author name or fic name you will find it.
Stop just expecting that by rudely asking, you'll get what you want.
And I don't care if you're quoting something when you ask, just take a couple of seconds to maybe ask nicely. It's not hard to do.
I am so fucking sick of this behaviour in fandoms right now. Honestly, it makes me not want to keep writing because I am so over dealing with rude people in the comments and in my inbox.
Also, while you're at it, reblog the fic, help spread it around the fandom. Comment on it if you liked it. Just take a few seconds to be a decent human being.
âItâs all made up so you can make it end however you wantâ -my mom

Internet Safety & Online Etiquette
Hello! I'm building a site for collecting advice, rules, unspoken or otherwise, and anything else people think is important to know or understand about The Internet and the environments within it. I want to have sections for - General Online Safety/Etiquette. Fandom. Site Specific. Content Creator. - And possibly others, if I receive requests or suggestions to add. If I get enough requests for specific circles, like MMOs, certain games, etc, I will add a section for them. This blog has submissions open, so feel free to let me know what you'd like to see! https://online-etiquette.carrd.co
"I don't understand headcanons" "I don't understand noncannon ships" "why do you see them as lgbtq+?" "Why can you headcanon het character as queer but I can't do it the other way?"
Stfu.
Saw several reposted pieces of fanart today, not a word about the original artist, no tag, not even a mention.
That's not how we do things around here.
Do not repost art without permission! And even with permission, tag the artist!
And even if you repost an art piece from, say, instagram, it should be common courtesy to at least look for the artist on here. Most of them post their art here as well.
Stealing credit from original artists is a no-no!
