funny idea i just got for an Eridian character. meet Hardtack
like a sick victorian child
Deadpool introduces Danny Phantom to the 4th wall.
3am lemon run 🍋 (as one does) in socks n’ knock off slides with your informally adopted son/human nightlight.
[Image ID: a short digital comic featuring Deadpool from Marvel comics and Danny from the cartoon Danny Phantom. The scene is set at night, Danny’s eyes are glowing brightly.
Panel 1: Deadpool is holding a large basket filled with lemons and Danny similarly has his arms full of lemons. Deadpool looks down at Danny and says, “Hey Danny, you’re an interdimensional being that can perceive things beyond this plane of existence, right?”.
Panel 2: A closeup of Danny’s face; he looks away thoughtfully. Danny: “Uhhhhh-” Danny’s thoughts: “Monster from another dimension? Souls dead? What are ghosts?”
Panel 3: Another closeup; Danny looks back to Deadpool. Danny’s thoughts: “Sure. Close enough.” Danny: “Yeah, I guess. Why?”
Last Panels: Deadpool, in meta text: “Sweet. We’re taking a shortcut.”. He grabs onto the top edge of the comic panel with one hand and swings his left leg out of the bottom of the panel. Several of his lemons spill out of the basket into the comic below. At this point it’s revealed that he’s only wearing the top half of his proper costume; instead he’s wearing a pair of blue pajama shorts and socks with sandals. In the background, Danny looks shocked and concerned.
Danny’s thoughts: “Is this legal?”
The outer borders between the panels have faded into white, leaving most of the canvas empty. Danny is sitting perched on the edge of the last remaining comic panel, watching Deadpool’s lemons spill out of the previous panel. He says, “Yo, what the fuck.” Deadpool is standing next to him, out of the bounds of the panels. The spilled lemons are resting on the blank space next to his feet. He replies: “I know right?”. End ID.]
Thank you @transguyhawkeye for writing the image ID!
hate when I type :) and this 🙂 fucker appears. Go away you evil soul
At Target this lady told her son he couldn’t have a Wonder Woman doll because “that’s for girls” and then bought her daughter the same one. It got me thinking about how often I see people bar young boys from appreciating girls/women as protagonists and heroes, and my own experience with it as a kid.

I think the "pre" and "post" parts in "preposterous" should cancel each other out but everyone else seems to find my idea completely erous

been stewing on an analytical approach to fiction which I call "is this book afraid of me?" and in order to answer this question you determine how hard the book is trying to make sure you don't come after the writer on twitter
the fucked-up part is that I specifically notice this in like, BIPOC or queer romances because their authors a) are more likely to be harassed online b) tend to care about writing inclusive and intersectional books more, both of which are totally valid reasons, but unfortunately a book that is scared to be misunderstood is also scared to challenge the reader or allow for too much nuance or grey areas or character flaws and I am sorry to say that it often makes for less compelling stories because it means shying away from ambiguities and complexities in an effort to reassure me, the reader, that everyone here is a Good Person engaging in Healthy Behaviours and Relationships
"This reads like a 20k post" is just casting a spell on said post
This reads like a 5 note post
You read like a 5-note blog
I have the worlds widest fattest fuck of a cat and he has an underbelly that begs to be bothered akin to a glowing video game weak point
Do you understand what I have to deal with here
These policies can help to improve the mental health of students
If the point is for the children to learn, then why wouldn’t you give them as many chances as it takes? What is the benefit of telling a child “you failed and that’s the end of it”?
I’m 25, and in my trade school, our tests aren’t judgement, they’re testing to see what we’ve retained, and identify what we’re missing.
If I weld a joint, and the CWI comes up behind me with a radiographic test for it and finds that I just laid hot metal on cold metal or it looks like a sponge inside, you know what’s gonna happen? You think they’re gonna give me a low score and tell me to move on? Fuck no. They’re gonna hand me a grinder and tell me to take it out and put it in right.
When there’s actual work to be done, we don’t leave it at the first attempt if that attempt was shit. We don’t leave a trail of “what’s done is done.” If it takes you four attempts, that’s what it takes, and next time it’ll take fewer because you learned how to do it right after the third time.
School, as it’s set up, with unforgiving deadlines and single attempt high stakes tests are building a shitty work ethic. It says “I tried once, and that’s all you’re getting.” It sets you up to leave a trail of cut losses and barely or unfinished projects as you scramble to get something, anything, turned in before the deadline.
And we wonder now why nothing works at launch.
I found an animal phyla tierlist
Listen if Nematodes learned a thing or two form us chordates and had the versatility to become hummingbirds and giant pyrosomes and fire starting apes then they too could achieve S tier.

"i look forward to hearing back" implies a beautiful world that runs on sense-direction combinations. i smell sideways to tasting up. i palpate inwards to listening diagonal, so that i can hunger clockwise
Hey btw, here's a piece of life advice:
If you know what you'd have to do to solve a problem, but you just don't want to do it, your main problem isn't the problem itself. Your problem is figuring out how to get yourself to do the solution.
If your problem is not eating enough vegetables, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make vegetables stop being yucky". If your problem is not getting enough exercise, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make exercise stop sucking ass". You're not supposed to just be doing things that are awful and suck all the time forever, you're supposed to figure out how to make it stop being so awful all the time.
I used to hate wearing sunscreen because it's sticky and slimy and disgusting and it feels bad and it smells bad, so I neglected to wear it even if I needed to. Then I found one that isn't like that, and doesn't smell and feel gross. Problem solved.
There is no correct way to live that's just supposed to suck and feel bad all the time. You're allowed to figure out how to make it not suck so bad.
