Could cry you know. I could cry and I do feel like crying but uh. What's the point? I am just speechless that people can donate and reach $75000 in a day on a scam but when requested to donate to a fundraiser, a huge portion of fandom bloggers will accuse the families of being scammers and bots.
Requesting people that if you are reblogging the post, consider sharing my friend's fundraiser. It has been five days since he has been able to buy food for his family of 24.

If you're an American with a disability who receives government assistance, you likely qualify for an ABLE account, or you may starting next
Named for the 2014 law that created them, the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act, ABLE accounts have been available since 2016 to individuals identified by a doctor as having a disability before the age of 26. Next year, theyāll become available to those identified before the age of 46, which will increase access to an additional 6 million people, including 1 million veterans, according to Indiana State Treasurer Daniel Elliott, who administers the accounts in his state. An estimated 8 million people nationwide already qualify.
āThe fact that it used to be that individuals could only save up to $2,000 or they could lose benefits ā that was really restricting a lot of families,ā Elliot said. āPeople were forced into a position where they couldnāt save for their futures. Now weāre seeing average account balances of (ABLE accounts) between $11,000 and $12,000.ā
Generally, ABLE accounts may reach totals of $100,000 without affecting Supplemental Security Income. Lifetime balance limits for the various state ABLE accounts can range from around $300,000 to over $500,000. Theyāre administered by state treasurers, and the vast majority can be set up online via their websites. Some ABLE plans accept paper applications as well.
Anyone can contribute to an ABLE account ā including the account owner, friends, family, organizations, nonprofits, and employers ā up to $19,000 per year in 2025. If the account owner is able to work and not already contributing to a workplace retirement plan, they can contribute an additional amount equal to their yearly gross income. For 2025, that amount is up to an additional $15,560 to $18,810, depending on the state administering the account.
There are also tax advantages. Investment earnings from ABLE accounts remain untaxed as long as money taken from the account is used for āqualified disability expenses,ā such as medical treatment, education, tutoring and job training. Account holders may choose from a number of investment options for the funds in their accounts or hold and save the money without investing it further.
Elliot said raising awareness of the accounts is the biggest challenge for the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST), for which heās also the secretary treasurer.
āMany people are used to the idea that, āIf I have a disability or my child has one, it could endanger their benefits to save money,āā he said. āWe as a state and as a country need to start reaching out to people and saying, āLook, you actually can save money now. You could save towards the purchase of a home.ā The hardest thing right now is getting that message out. We need more people to be aware things have changed.ā
According to NASTās data, just 186,641 ABLE accounts existed at the end of 2024, despite an estimated 8 million people qualifying. When the age limit is raised, the accounts will also become available to people whose disabilities may have been the result of an accident in adulthood or developed later in life, such as after a COVID infection.
Andrew Warren, senior associate for policy and research at the Financial Health Network, who studies the financial circumstances of Americans with disabilities, said that the vast majority of peopleĀ surveyed for a 2023 report by the organizationĀ did not know these accounts existed.
āLess than 1% of eligible individuals have these accounts,ā Warren said. āOur research show that one of the major barriers to becoming financially healthy for this vulnerable group is asset limits. But thereās an information disconnect between caseworkers and direct services providers on the ground and (administrators of ABLE accounts).ā
Two online resources āĀ ABLE TodayĀ and theĀ ABLE National Resource CenterĀ ā can guide you through questions to determine if you or a friend or family member qualifies.
The return of the bison means the return of the prairie, one of the three great grassland ecosystems on the planet.
"A tribal-led nonprofit is creating a network of native bison ranchers that are restoring ecosystems on the Great Plains, restoring native ranchersā connections with their ancestral land, and restoring the native diet that their ancestors relied on.
Called the Tanka Fund, they coordinate donors and partners to help ranchers secure grazing land access, funds needed to install and repair fencing, increase their herd sizes, and access markets for bison meat across the country.
Thatās the human part of the story. But as Dawn Sherman, executive director of the Tanka Fund, told Native Sun News, theyāre ābuffalo peopleā and these four-legged, 2,000 lbs. ācousinsā are equal-part-protagonists.
The return of the bison means the return of the prairie, one of the three great grassland ecosystems on the planet, of which just 1% remains as it was when the Mayflower arrived.
āBringing buffalo back to their ancestral homelands is essential to restoring the ecosystem. We know that the buffalo is a keystone species,ā said Dawn Sherman, a member of the Lakota, Delaware, Shawnee, and Cree.
āBringing the buffalo back to the land and to our people, helps restore the ecosystem and everything it supports from the animals to the plants to the people. Itās come full circle. Thatās how we see it.ā
As Sherman and the Tanka Fund help native ranchers grow their operations, everyone is well aware of the power of the bison to transform the environment: just as nations across Europe are, who are reintroducing wood bison to various ecosystems, for all the same reasons.
Sherman points out the variety of ways in which buffalo anchor the prairie ecosystem. The almost-extinct black-footed ferret, she points out, lived symbiotically with the bison, and with the latter gone, the former followedānearly.
The long-billed curlew uses bison dung as a disguise to hide nests from predators. Deer, pronghorn antelope, and elk all rely on bison to plow through deep snows and uncover the grasses that these smaller animals canāt reach.
Everywhere the bison hurls its massive body, life springs in the beastās wake. When bison roll about on the plains, it creates depressions known as wallows. These fill with rainwater and create enormous puddles where amphibians and insects thrive and reproduce. Certain plants evolved to grow in the wet conditions of the wallows which Native Americans harvested for food and medicine.
Native plants evolved under the trampling hooves of millions of bison, and that constant tamping down of the Earth is a key necessity in the spreading of native wildflower seed.
Indeed, Sherman says some of these native ranchers are bringing bison onto lands still visibly affected by the Dust Bowl, and already the animals are acting like a giant wooly cure-all for the landās ills.
Since 2020, the Tanka Fund, in partnership with the Inter-Tribal Buffalo Council and the Nature Conservancy, has overseen the transfer of 2,300 bison from Nature Conservancy reserves to lands managed by ranchers within the Tanka Fund network.
ā[T]he more animals that we can get the more of that prairie we can restore,ā said Sherman. āWe can help restore the land that has been plowed and has been leased out to cattle ranchers.ā"

Keep sharing this folks. & take action. This is a major bill that has republicanās support. It is essentially the reversal of the 19th amendment using citizenship as a scapegoat
There will be a lot of distractions preventing folks from focusing on this bill. Because this is the one that will bring democracy down.
Trans people threw the first bricks at Stonewall, this is explicitly genocidal and revisionist, they are removing trans people from our history, they don't want us to exist
The fact they can't even acknowledge us in platitudes is fucking terrifying, they can't even say T in LGBT on the website for Stonewall Inn. Stonewall was the start of our liberation and we can't and could never have liberation without trans people and specifically trans women like Marsha P Johnson and Sylvia Rivera
During the raid on the Stonewall Inn in 1969, the police forced all women in the bar to undergo genital inspections in the restroom so they could arrest trans women and drag queens. That was what started the riots, people refused to comply with the police attempting to target trans women. It is explicitly revisionist to separate trans people from the stonewall uprising
"they stopped talking about luigi mangione to silence us" his next court appearance is 9:00 AM at the New York Supreme Criminal Court,Ā 100 Centre Street, February 21.
the reference number is IND-75657-24/001. it is within your constitutional rights to protest outside of the courthouse, make signs, and voice your opinions as loudly as you can. YOU don't have to stop talking about him. show up.
Trump basically declared disabled people āunfit to workā as he put it by revoking the Equal Employment Opportunity Law of 1965. It means employers no longer have to legally give accommodations to disabled employees. This will render so many Americans jobless and barely anyone is talking about it because disabled people like me are treated as expendable.

If you are a British/UK citizen, there is currently a petition running (with only 125 signatures) that ends in June 2025. The petition calls for the government to make it so that you do not need a diagnosis of gender dysphoria to change your gender.
If you are a British/UK citizen, and would like to sign:

If you're not a British/ UK citizen it'd be much appreciated if you could share this post !! :)
hey guys sorry to do more e-begging. our landlord is kicking us out at the end of february unless we can get $1400. if you can spare anything, commissions are open and pay what you want.
we can't get a hotel or motel room, the only homeless shelter in the area doesn't allow dogs so id have to give up my puppy and i can't think of any other options. i am begging for help at this point
Thereās a bunch of right-wing people posting memes about āāDOGEāā making the government more efficient by removing funding from āādumb bug researchersāā and I am now realizing how little the average person knows about entomology and its importance
There is a community note correcting this post about the importance of researching insects - including the reproductive habits of insects. But still the fact this was posted and 2k people liked it makes me sad š„²š„²
"stupid researchers studying the mating habits of beetles" people when they can't afford groceries because an invasive beetle species is decimating crops
Colleague: so they were using the wrong species to pollinate their crops.
Me: what do you mean?
Colleague: well they were using a fly species from Canada and theyāre growing onions in Texas. The fly they were using was dying in a day in their greenhouses because itās frigging Texas in May/June.
Me: and no one was studying this or telling them otherwise?
Colleague: not till me.
Me: so they were wasting all that money on an inefficient pollinator and losing out on crop yield.
Colleague: yepā¦
And yet these idiots want to cut entomological research funding. Yeah, good luck with that. Come back to us when thereās huge outbreaks of pest insects and arbovectors that we were studying but yāall decided it was ātoo stupidā to fund.
My friend Mohammed and his family have been raising survival and evacuation funds (verified, #174) from Gaza for the past several months, and thanks to everyone's help, he has been able to raise ā¬77.8k!
Currently, Mohammed is aiming to raise ā¬80k - he is only ā¬2.2k away from this goal. He and his family cannot return to Northern Gaza where their home was prior to Oct 7th 2023, as it has been destroyed and he has no means of safely transporting his family and their belongings there. They are currently living in an abandoned school with other displaced people (he has a post detailing this here if you want to know more information).
He needs to raise these funds to restart his children's education, which has been halted for 15 months now due to the ongoing genocide, as well as continuing to pay for basic necessities. He and his family are sharing in the joy of many Palestinians for the current ceasefire deal, and he would like to slowly reintroduce routine into his children's lives so they can have a proper education and resume their childhood once more.
Despite the many notes on his recent campaign posts, he has received very little funds, and his campaign has been stagnating for weeks now. Please share and donate to his campaign if you can, even if it's only a couple bucks! Thanks very much.
very strange phenomenon now that many people have learned online not to pet service dogs is that they walk by little bird and me, wave their hands at little bird, and say in a baby voice "oooohh you're so cute! you're so cute! i'm not going to pet you because i know you're working! ooohhhh puppy puppy puppy, i want to pet you but i'm not allowed~" and i have to tell them what they're doing is literally as distracting as petting her. this happens almost every single time i'm out with her.
Iām really grateful you made this post because I donāt think Iād considered how this would be just as distracting. I donāt think Iāve done this, but I wouldnāt have known it was important not to do.
Reblogging for everybody else who maybe never thought this through fully

Honestly as a blind person Iām so tired of seeing fictional blind characters who donāt use white canes or other guides. āThey have special powers so they know whatās around themā or ātheyāre confident enough to not need a guideā are common tropes, and Iām tired.
Are people scared that using a white cane will make their blind character seem weak? They canāt use a cane because theyāre so special that they already know whatās around them, and other blind people who use guides are inferior because theyāre not special?
Iām tired. Give your blind characters white canes and other guides. Let them hold onto their friends, let them have guide dogs. Donāt make white cane users feel ostracized for not being āstrong enoughā to go without.
Another thing that pisses me off is when a sighted character comes up with the fantasy equivalent of braille and teaches it to the blind character. Braille was invented by Louis Braille, a blind man, in 1824. The blind character should be the one coming up with it.
I have characters who are either blind in one eye or deaf. I haven't really worked on a fully or mostly blind character, but seeing the need for it in fantasy spaces and with this... I'll consider something. Idk a blind immortal might be fun. If I do it, I want them to be reoccurring...
DO NOT LET THEM WIN! Donāt let them do what they did with The Owl House what they did to The ghost and molly Mcgee or Haileys on it or what Cartoon Network did to Infinity train or what Nickelodeon did To Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Come On HELP! Do your best
