Being a misogynist is bad, but Naoya isn't only just that. He looks down on nearly everybody. Those he doesn't look down on, Toji and Gojo, he still doesn't respect as people. But as symbols of power.

That's the thing about Naoya.

People wonder why he is so hated (as if he's the only character who gets hate) even though there are other characters like Sukuna, Kenjaku, Geto and so on who has done worse things.

One, because Naoya is the type of guy we see every single day. He's the guy we will most likely run into at the grocery store or see as a politician.

The type of guy who feels entitled, doesn't respect anyone who he sees below him no matter how much worth they hold, arrogant, whiny and so on.

Naoya isn't just a misogynist. He's an all-around prick.

He doesn't just look down on women. He looks down on his own brothers. Barely batted a lash learning that his own father, Naobito who is also a prick, died. He looks down on everybody and anybody, I say.

Two, I would also chalk it up to Naoya not being an interesting character to some people. We really didn't learn much about Naoya beyond what we know. He's written as another obstacle for Maki after Naobito dies.

That doesn't mean Naoya isn't interesting to everyone in the fandom, let alone is hated.

It's like with the other characters I mentioned. They're also hated to some degree by the fandom just as they do have their fans.

That's the thing I don't get about some people. They act like it's wrong for other characters but their own favorite character to have fans. They make it seem like, since he's the topic, Naoya doesn't have fans of his own. In fact, since the anime, I have seen more people become fans of Naoya. They also act as if other characters don't have their haters.

Like, I have seen people hate on Kenjaku, Geto and Sukuna way before Naoya even became a topic. Heck, Mahito I feel gets more hate than Naoya (but he also has his fans).

Again, though, I feel that Naoya is watered down by the fandom to just a misogynist.

For some people, I feel it makes it easier to hate him because misogyny is a real issue. For others, it's also something for them to look pass because they don't see misogyny all that seriously. To them, it's the "less offense" because it's just "oh, you hate women".

Here are some basic primers. If someone is wearing what look like Meta glasses, they usually have a small circular camera in the outer corners of the lenses, like the one on your phone.

I would also regularly check their own product pages so you're on top of what the models look like. They tend to have larger frames, but come in a variety of shapes and colors.

A new hobbyist developed app warns if people nearby may be wearing smart glasses, such as Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, which stalkers and harassers have repeatedly used to film people without their knowledge or consent. The app scans for smart glasses’ distinctive Bluetooth signatures and sends a push alert if it detects a potential pair of glasses in the local area.

The American Foundation for the Blind has said that "The Ray-Ban Meta glasses are an accessibility tool only by coincidence. That makes them more affordable and, in many ways, unaware of the needs of users with reduced vision" although they do have seemingly positive views on Meta Glasses as a whole. (source 10). It also seems like their marketing push as accessibility devices began last year (source 11).

But to add even more into the nonsense, Meta is now toying around with adding a "limit" to the functionality of their glasses unless their users pay for more access (source 12). AND, as stated above, Meta has officially added facial recognition code in their glasses and only admitted it after being called out, which is basically the death of privacy as we know it (source 13, source 14, source 15). And oh look another lawsuit because of it (source 16) THAT THEY LOST (source 17)!

Long story short: I don't begrudge someone using them as a disability aid overall, but ultimately both their privacy and other people's privacy are being disregarded by Meta and that is not and should not be acceptable by any means.

I understand there is no ethical consumption under capitalism but there is a level of personal responsibility someone has to take when using them if they truly truly need them, such as opting out of sharing information, not filming strangers without permission, not posting footage of strangers online, opting out of facial recognition if possible, etc.

before I start, I want to clarify that I’ve only just started using ellipsus, so there may be things I don’t know or maybe things I got wrong? basically these are just what I experience so far since I began using it for the past couple days. so fyi I am definitely not an expert on how the platform works.

“what convinced me to move from google docs to ellipsus? / what makes it better than google docs?”

from what I hear people say, google docs apparently uses ai to 1. train their ai model 2. scan what you write — so that they can delete your works or ban your gmail account if their ai deems your works violated their terms of service, aka if your works are too explicit, if they’re smut or if they’re too taboo.

though I must say that I’ve never had any issues with google docs and I write a lot of smut, explicit, taboo fics on there. so this is entirely what I hear other people say. so I decide to move from it to ellipsus anyway because I don’t want to risk losing my works or my account.

so… “why ellipsus?”

as I’ve mentioned earlier, I don’t want to risk losing my works, or my gmail account, because google’s ai allegedly gets to decide what I can or cannot write.

from what I hear, ellipsus was built with the purpose of being 100% ai-free and 100% writer-friendly. so I believe my works are safer here.

“how’s ellipsus compared to google?”

so far I prefer ellipsus’s ui. it’s more convenient, easier to navigate, it has themes you can choose. it makes you feel less “writing is a job that you have to do” and more “writing is fun, look at all these themes and cool tools you can play with!”

that said, the only thing I have to adapt is that ellipsus blocks all autocorrect and text prediction. granted, I understand they do this because, unlike other platforms, ellipsus’s core is that you as a writer write everything yourself. I’m still used to google docs, and pretty much every other platform, where I can somewhat rely on autocorrect to fix my typos and text prediction to help me so that I don’t always have to type down every single letter of the word I want. but it’s no big deal. I can correct typos when I proofread my works, and it’s not like I rely on autocorrect and text prediction that much to begin with anyway.

“would I recommend ellipsus?”

The aesthetics and styling of the video are space androgyny at its finest. Janet’s shorter, edgier hair and heavy eyeliner... Michael’s cunty ass poses/ expressions combined with his commanding demeanor. Janet has just as much of a strong presence as Michael, and Michael isn’t taking on a performative hypermasculine role to show his power either. He does the same sharp poses as Janet while also serving long curls, lashes, and eyeshadow. He has this effortless confidence and attitude. Janet doesn’t try to be “soft” or “lady like” as society often demands for women. She grabs her titties, flips the camera off, and pretends to use a toilet standing up.

Lots of fierce screaming, guitar breaking, and futuristic cunt. It’s art that protests media scrutiny and refuses to conform to the personas expected of them. Also: they’re both wearing skin tight leather, crop tops, and do the most ionic dance break of all that time also awakened many things within me. Their unapologetic empowerment is legendary, especially since the industry demands so much of black artists to behave a certain way. Even though it’s in black and white, the message and impact are quite loud. Truly the video of all time.
