The fabled aroallo cishet man up to nefarious things is such a nonsense concept. Loads of queer people don't even know what aromantic is about. If a cishet man has done enough reflecting to figure out they're aromantic then chances are they've already been a friend and ally to queer people for a considerable amount of time.

People who get offended at the term "alloromantic" sound like the people who say cisgender is a slur. Alloromantic is not an identity we're trying to make up it's just a shorthand for anyone who isn't aromantic get a fucking grip

the way a lot of people talk about dating makes me really sad

maybe im just autistic and arospec but are yall even having fun? i know some people enjoy the process of dating, of meeting new people and knowing you might not click with them, but so many people talk about it like it's this horrible and depressing thing but they have to do it or they'll be lonely and miserable forever and i just feel like maybe that's not the best mindset to be having when you want a relationship? regardless of how amatonormativity plays into this, it just feels like... surely this isn't the best way to do things? if you're miserable and dreading it the whole time? you don't need to go on dates and use dating apps if you don't like them. you don't need to be doing that

i guess you can't really take amatonormativity out of this because obviously people do feel pressured to date and be in a relationship but like even with that you don't have to constantly be searching for someone to have romantic feelings for. isn't that exhausting. aren't you gonna end up going for someone who's just okay for you because you so badly want this to work
