remember that i love and care about you, and i want you to be as healthy and safe as you can be

no one fucking tells you this so here it is:

when signing out forms to apply for disability / filling out a form for diagnosis

you’re supposed to fill it out as you on your worst days

like, I filled out forms that said I could do most things usually

like, my doctor added in the conditions like “yeah, they can feed themselves when not stressed” “they can do this when not stressed”

but how I should have filled it out was more like

“some days I can’t feed myself” “some days I can’t leave the house”

My doctor didn’t even know this, but I talked to someone who had worked with people with both developmental and intellectual disabilities for a number of years, and she told me to write down how it is for your bad days

this should be a thing they tell you, but it isn’t

Like tma, it gradually goes from ‘man begrudgingly listens to plot’ to ‘man becomes involved in the plot despite his best wishes’. Bonus for also having an ace main character!

…monster-of-the-week horror with unfolding plot go brr? check out Hi Nay! Mari, a filipina immigrant with some sick supernatural abilities, rapidly finds herself enlisted to help neutralize cursed items that have been tormenting people throughout Toronto. I’m a couple episodes behind but things seem to be pointing to a larger plot, at least for the season, and I’ve absolutely adored it so far. my words can’t even do justice here tbh, go check it out

…more for the representation, less for the horror? check out Unwell! a fiction podcast set in Ohio, about a woman who returns home to care for her mom only to find herself ensnared in ghost stories and a whole new found family. Intoxicatingly midwestern (but in a good way I swear!!). Great queer rep and several main characters of color. 

…for the representation AND for the horror? check out Old Gods of Appalachia! Set in some Olden Days (i dont recall the specific times. a while ago though) it follows the stories of people trying to eke out a living in rural Appalachia, and the struggles - both manmade and supernatural - that haunt them. You want cool forest gods? You want extreme horror? You want diverse set of characters and seeing a story play out from multiple POVs, each one adding a new and tasty layer to the plot? come on in

…for the ace main character whose gender can go brr?? check out Jar of Rebuke! Follows Dr. Jared Hel, a tired and unkillable scientist, as he tries to balance his work at Sketchy Facility with the normal life he wants to live. Tasty show 10/10

and finally……..because concept of avatarhood sexy? check out The Silt Verses! A ragtag pair of people travel up the stream of a giant river in search of their outlawed god, the Trawler-Man. Tons of gods are a straight-up thing in this universe and i cannot emphasize enough how bitchin a) the world building is and b) the execution is
