When Jason was first adopted Dick was in his broody teen phase and wanted literally nothing to do with the little guy, which made Jason really sad. Dick was actually ecstatic to have a little brother but couldn’t let it show. And after he died the thing Dick regretted most was not showing him how much he adored his little brother. So when Jason comes back from the dead he makes a massive effort to shove himself into Jason’s life as frequently as he can, which really confuses Jason because as long as he can remember they didn’t really talk much and the most bonding they ever really had was watching a movie or two together and Dick being forced to babysit once or twice. Like ew go away I’m 19 now I don’t wanna watch Up with you AGAIN. Like he wasn’t mean, Dick was definitely nice, but usually didn’t stick around to spend time with Jay as much as he would have liked to.
