The piece is interpreted as a tone poem of sorrow and grief (I am ignoring the romantic interpretations as it doesn't fit the story at the moment.) "Adagio sostenuto, is a profound exploration of deep, introspective, and melancholic emotions." "The persistent, gentle triplet ostinato that runs throughout the movement can be seen as a symbol of an inescapable, underlying sadness or the steady, quiet passage of time in a state of mourning." now THAT'S interesting because we see Sora in a very contemplative state, possibly thinking about the whole deal with the Zodiac alliance (with fight scenes in between, so ig he's thinking about how My-th has been thrown out, which is ironic in itself cuz the Rat actually tricked the Cat in the Great race to get #1 if i am not wrong. So a reverse of that situation.) and how he needs to protect Yuna from everything considering he's the only one there for her. I assume the sorrow and grief bit are implications about their childhood losses.

The sonata's mournful character can also be seen as a direct expression of struggle and inner turmoil that isolation one might face (like how Beethoven IRL was isolated and struggling as his hearing ability degraded), so there's def some angst in Sora about this particular thing. One interesting thing to note, is that Beethoven subtitled this song as "Sonata quasi una fantasia" (sonata in the style of a fantasy), thus suggesting a deeper retreat in one's personal feelings, away from 'structured conventions'. For Sora/My-th, we have seen how rounded he looks compared to other riders, so that leans into him being unconventional to the rest of the zodiac pack and how Sora's initial deal is just to protect Yuna, that's it, really little mention of Fukagishi or not in direct capacity.
