It's wild to watch the phrase "tumblr sexyman" morph into "man that tumblr thinks is sexy," because when I first saw the phrase come into use, I always saw it used in reference to the phenomenon of "when presented with a wide array of fictional characters, tumblr will always pick the skinny white man to obsess over, and if the fan-favorite character has no canonical human appearance, the fandom will inevitably create a popular fanon of the character as as a skinny white man."
When I hear "tumblr sexyman," I think of Cecil Night Vale being constantly depicted as a skinny white man instead of literally anything else. I think of the background character white men who get elevated over protagonists that are women, people of color, or otherwise not the white man power fantasy.
"Tumblr sexyman" is, like. An insult. I DON'T want any of my blorbos to win a "tumblr sexyman" poll. "Tumblr sexyman" is the exact opposite of what I want my own OCs to be. If any of my characters ever get called "tumblr sexyman," I will have to immediately re-evaluate myself and the art I'm making.
Things I think of when I hear "tumblr sexyman":
Cecil Night Vale, as previously mentioned.
Oncelercest, because if there aren't two skinny white men to ship, tumblr fandom will start shipping the skinny white man with himself.
Bill Cipher inexplicably being fanon'd as a white twink despite being a fucking triangle.
Everyone fawning over Marvel Loki while shoving every woman and Black person in the MCU aside.
The way nearly every single character in Hazbin Hotel has the same "tall and skinny" body type, along with all the criticisms Black audience members have made about the issues with Alastor's design.
The way tumblr got obsessed with the white man villain in Sinners.
seeing young trans men saying how they feel so “validated” by people telling them to kill themselves because “at least they see me as a man” is actually so fucking sad. 15 year old trans boy you do not deserve to be treated like a monster because of the words you use for yourself and the goals you have for your body. you do not need to accept this kind of treatment from your own community in order to prove that you’re not a threat. you are a person. you are a person
Literally why I'm so vocal about transandrophobia and why, as a trans man in my 30s, I won't be caught dead capitulating to that shit or engaging in constant performance of platitude, apology, diminishment and self flagellation for existing as a trans man
No I will fucking not teach trans masc youth your creepy terf version of original sin
No I won't teach trans masc youth that they need to apologise for being trans, for being masc or for being young men
Fuck transandrophobes and fuck every trans masc and trans man who sells out his brothers in this way
Relying on a disability pension doesn’t mean you’re any less of a person btw. Your value is not determined by your ability to work full-time.
Being anti-endo baffles me actually. Wdym it’s unrealistic for the human brain to create more beings per body just cause it wasn’t caused by trauma. The human brain is so complicated I think the most unrealistic thing is expecting it to follow your rules actually.

Sue Tilley was 35 years old and working in a London employment office when she disrobed and let British artist Lucian Freud paint her in the nude. On Wednesday, one of Freud’s four nude portraits of her sold at Sotheby’s London for $39 million, the third-highest auction price for the artist.
“Mona Lisa wasn’t alive when she became famous—but I am,” Tilley said of the interest in her 1995-96 portrait, “Sleeping by the Lion Carpet.”

Shit just happens to you when you're a tuna crab
"I'd like to start a small project raising awareness of sexual assault, coercion, harassment, and other similar behaviors toward trans men and others TME (transmisogyny exempt) by people TMA (transmisogyny affected)."
Yeah so this is lolcowing and fucked up and if you do this stay away from me like this is just weird and of course their taking sourceless ass ask about trans woman at their word and shaming people for kinks
Fuck this and fuck you for running this kinda blog, and anyone who follows me and also this blog can unfollow me because if I see SHIT from a blog with that bullshit as its pinned you WILL be blocked
“transmasc voices project” sounded like it could have been a great place for transmascs to just like. talk about their issues but THIS is what their purpose is?? Jesus, that fucking sucks. What possible intention could the original blog have except to demonise trans women.
They’re either a raging TERF or… actually, yeah that’s it. Even if they’re actually trans, that’s still 100% disgusting TERF behaviour.
It's also just way too narrow and gross to us as a survivor. Why not discuss sexual violence done by all types of people to all types of people? Why only target a group of abusers that's ridiculously small compared to the people doing majority of rapes? Especially with very specific victims?
There is no way this is genuine, as anyone who actually cares about sexual violence listens to all kinds of victims, and targets all kinds of perpetrators.
Her extremely binarist use of the terms TME and TMA is also at least concerning to us as an intersex person.
On top of that, the majority of sex crimes are committed by pericis people, usually either straight or living as such. And majority of victims knew their rapist already really well before they were raped. This "study" doesn't address this fact at all.
Plus we are worried about conversion therapy being seen as the only road to recovery for both victims and abusers here. Maybe even no longer being disabled and assimilating to mainstream whiteness would be required for the recovery to be considered valid as well. TERFs did shit like this before and they will do it again.
Also, this seems like a good place to bring up the fact that JK Rowling is encouraging gender criticals to sue Amnesty International for calling out her ideology as "anti human rights". (link) But of course she isn't going to sue herself, and we are almost certain her radfem legal fund will suddenly run dry or otherwise become unavailable for these lawsuits. She claims she will pay the legal fees (link), but we all know she won't.
Mrs. Galbraith also posted panty shots of a trans woman and called her a sexual predator. (link)
So the leader of the movement openly opposes a human rights organisation. So much for "protecting" anyone.

this summer i recommend shower wipes or body wipes to people who struggle with hygiene due to disability, mental or physical. yes i know it produces unnecessary waste. yes there’s the argument of “if you buy the wipes then you’ll never shower,” but chances are most people who are struggling would Not Have Showered with or without access to wipes. i know it isnt a full shower but wiping yourself down can make a big difference in how you feel!!
along these lines you can think about buying mouthwash and getting any kind of friction at all on your teeth when it’s too hard to brush fully, dry shampoo if it’ll help keep your hair less oily when washing your hair is overwhelming, etc. you deserve easier ways to care for yourself and feel clean. also remember you are not a failure for struggling with hygiene even if society tells you otherwise!
i was training a young person at work, and she referred to sexual assault as "SA" out loud, and i immediately was like, "no, it's sexual assault, call it what it is," bc idgaf if the algorithm overlords have taught y'all that you should fear direct language, how tf do any of you expect to ever address real issues with any amount of seriousness if you can't even say the words? imagine an advocate looking a sexual assault survivor in the eyes and asking "did he grape you?" it's absolutely fucking absurd, but these young interns and new hires are coming into an environment where we deal with survivors of all different kinds of abuse, and they're coming with the mindset that the words are as bad as the actions, and that makes them shitty at the job and look juvenile af
i HATE self-censorship for a lot of reasons, but being in crisis work makes it even more frustrating. who are you censoring for? like i am being so fr, WHO are you censoring for? have you even thought it through? people who have been raped know that they have been raped. if someone attempts suicide or is grieving someone who did, saying "sewer slide" isn't going to protect them from any of the feelings. a murder victim's family isn't going to feel better bc you said "unalived" instead of murdered. if anything, it's just extremely invalidating and othering. it's saying "what happened to you is so bad that i won't even say the word," which is NOT trauma-informed care. you are not protecting survivors/victims when you self-censor. the ONLY things you protect when you self-censor are the puritanical ideologies that are being encouraged by rich fascists who want your money and obedience
say the fucking words, guys. just say the goddamn words before i go insane!!!
Yes, some disabilities are dynamic, and most of us in the disability community know this. However many people aren’t aware of just how dynamic some conditions can be.
A person can go from no symptoms at all to being profoundly debilitated all in one day.
Some have baseline symptoms so low and flares so high, that things can go from 1 to 10 very quickly.
I know it can seem impossible that some people’s disabilities fluctuate with such extreme variability, but this is a real phenomenon that people deal with.
If your system doesn't account for the fact that Parents Are Going To Be Abusive/Neglectful/Insufficient then it objectively sucks I'm sorry I don't make the rules
Monitored bank accounts for those under 18. Requiring parental consent for medical procedures. Parental controls on personal devices. "We won't teach this at school because parents are supposed to address it at home." Anything that puts all of the child's power onto the parents' hand, anything that assumes parents are going to inherently do enough of a good job no one else needs to interfer, every single one of these IS going to be used by controlling, neglectful or unprepared parents and already are, and if the system did not account for that very real, tangible, dangerous tendency, then it's not worth fucking anything. You shouldn't make things "for the youth"/with children in mind if you are going to overlook this painfully common aspect of their lives u_u
when they say "for the children", almost universally they in fact actually mean "for [controlling] the children"
In the name of disability pride month start giving a shit about psychotic people NOW

abelds have this funky ability where they hear disabled people say they "can't" do something and instead of hearing "can't" as in, cannot, they hear "i can if i push myself and i just don't wanna". which is really interesting!
you were born in 2006? what are you? a Honda Civic?
can i fucking help you?
