I've never seen the anime "I'm in Love with the Villainess", but I did see a clip of this dialogue and immediately thought of these two. I need to get on that; I'm sure this anime is a gold mine for Charles/Toppat!Henry inspiration.
Charles is completely mortified! What's the leader of the world's most dangerous criminal organization doing, confessing to him in front of his boss and peers?? And is Henry serious, or is this some cruel prank meant to embarrass him? N-not that he cares or anything!
For Rupert, this whole scene is so out of left field that he has absolutely no composure left, torn between beating the crap out of Henry and crawling in a hole to die of second hand embarrasment. Most likely, he's just going to flop his arms around uselessly and scream.
The Toppat Clan leader bluntly professing his love to his protégé/son figure was not on Galeforce's bingo card today. Truth really is stranger than fiction sometimes... Is it a distraction, or is Henry being genuine? Does it matter if it is genuine? Does Charles care if it's genuine? Does Charles Calvin is gay?
While Henry confessing his love to a seemingly random soldier wasn't specifically on Right Hand Man's bingo card, he does get his free space fulfilled: Henry acts like a freak in public. He's used to having that free space filled by now, but... really? Reginald's going to have an absolute cow when he hears about this...
Ellie thinks this whole thing is hilarious, and also kind of sweet... but mostly hilarious. I imagine she'll either pass out from lack of air or throw up from laughing so hard. Both of these would just make her laugh harder.
Henry is 100% serious. How can you not love Charles Calvin? His kind heart, his unyielding spirit, his heroic bravado... his cute little face when he's embarrassed! Having an evil crush on a boy is like crack for Henry, and he never gets tired of the high. How many other ways can he get Charles to blush...? >:)
Oogh... This really makes me want to write a Charles/Toppat!Henry fic... only problem is that I have no idea how I'd make it work... but *ooh*, I want to write one so bad...
Anyway, happy Pride, everyone! Here's to all the boys, girls, and nonbinary pearls living and loving to their hearts content, and may more of us have the freedom to do so in peace in the near future!
