hello hello! if you are big into 3ds games you might’ve heard people talking about how “3ds games are dying”, and how cartridges are becoming unusable over time due to corruption.

this freaked me out majorly, so I learned what I could and tried to make an easy to follow guide of all the steps you can take to prevent cartridge corruption, back up cartridges and saves, and how to fix cartridge corruption if it happens. I hope it can be helpful to people.

(this is essentially a compilation of several guides on several 3DS programs. so big thank you to the creators of the cartridge fixer tool, godmode9, and checkpoint for creating the programs, and writing guides on how to use them!!! I did not figure this stuff out, I’m just trying to put it all in one location and in an order that made sense to me.)
