what i'm dwelling on right now is that i feel like sylvain would be very sympathetic to emile (general) if she was feeling out of place because he's socially canny and would notice if she was drifting to the fringes of a group or making herself scarce and Not just because he really loves her. and it's sad to him to see her do this because she's so lovable and friendly but unsure of herself and i like imagining that he would ask her to stick around because He personally really wants her there and he would be really sorry to see her leave. uuurrgh

ok listen. emile does not get jealous about sylvain. however my hunch is that sylvain Does get jealous about emile, because everyone loves emile and emile loves basically everyone, and he wants her positive attention and he wants her to think of him as a romantic interest but he is also aware that (he's hurt her before/he has been such a jerk that she might never fully trust him/he has nothing to offer her that she wants) and that stings. that doesn't stop him from trying anyway but like it's a thing in the back of his mind that there's a snowball's chance in hell of them working out and Lots Of prospective suitors that would suit her much better if she was inclined. that's my hunch
