that scene where dylan opens up to ryan about how he’s been hiding behind a charismatic jokester persona the entire time means so much to me. dylan is terrified of rejection, so he becomes the type of person that people would typically like to see. but then he admits to having done this, and instead of making a huge deal out of it, ryan accepts him for who he really is purely because it’s the version of himself that dylan likes best. there’s no judgement, just him matching “dylan dylan” with his own “ryan ryan”, and appreciating dylan’s authentic self. it’s the best possible thing that could have become of that conversation, and probably the last thing that dylan expected to happen
