Dean’s working a case alone and he bumps into Cas who is also working the case. Cas is like well may the best hunter win and Dean’s like don’t be stupid what have you got because he misses the angel dammit but he’s sure as hell not going to admit it.

And Cas works with him because he misses Dean too and can’t seem to help himself even though he knows Dean hates him.

Cut to them alone in a hotel room sniping bitchily at each other until one of them is slamming the other into the wall. They’re making out and frantically slipping clothes off.

1. everyone is in SO much pain right now, they’ve lost so so much in such a short time. it’s like the start of s13 but with even less breathing room

2. obviously dean is angry with cas for going off script resulting in rowena’s death, and also for keeping secrets about jack and going off to deal with it on his own, arguably contributing to mary’s death. but a more subtle element is, i think, that when cas went lone-wolf to deal with jack’s soullessness, what he actually DID was get chuck involved. of course, cas had no way to know calling his dad for help would backfire so spectacularly, and chuck could have popped back up without cas calling for him! but chuck is still the one who killed jack, and chuck’s return is what’s sending dean into a complete tailspin existential crisis. so i wonder if cas initiating that is a contributing factor to the hurt he’s feeling.

3. it feels to me like dean wants to fight it out with cas here. his anger with cas is the easiest emotion to deal with right now and i wonder if he wants the catharsis of an argument, of getting everything out between them no matter how ugly. he’s not trying to drive cas away and i don’t think he wants a punching bag, either, i think he wants cas to hit back! (I’ll admit this is just opinion and speculation). the tension between them has been building, and dean seems genuinely thrown and overwhelmed with panic/grief when cas retreats?

and at first cas IS arguing back! but then dean hits too close to home, maybe, triggering his total retreat?

4. cas’s big dialogue feels so oddly speech-y that it comes across as almost planned or rehearsed, even

now, i feel similarly about cas dialogue in some other berens episodes, so I think this is probably just a quirk of his writing style. but it’s still intriguing to consider that cas might have come into this conversation already planning to leave!

this is from my Buddie marriage of convenience turned divorce turned exes to lovers WIP <3

It is a beautiful kitchen. High-arched ceilings, a line of picture windows facing the backyard, offering plenty of natural light. The walls are a freshly painted egg shell blue to match the pearlescent off-white quality of the granite countertops and there is a six burner cooktop built directly into the flat surface of the kitchen island, which itself takes up most of the space in the centre of the room. Jordan watches from his perch in the doorway, scratching absentmindedly over his chin, one ankle crossed over the other.  “It’s nice,” Eddie says, hands jammed into the pockets on his jacket, head on a swivel. “And big. Lots of space.” “Yeah,” Buck echoes, giving a short nod. “Are the appliances included?” “You bet,” Jordan answers. He’s not looking at them anymore. He’s staring at the phone in his hands, fingers flying across the screen as he types furiously. “Brand new, just like the rest of the place. The owners did a complete remodel before they listed.” Eddie wanders the kitchen. Buck watches him press his fingers to the surfaces, watches him open the dual-compartment oven to peer inside. Watches him repeat the action with the fridge, pulling on arbitrary drawers and appraising the size of the freezer. He can picture it now, him and Eddie existing in tandem amongst this shared space. Breakfast in the morning, lazy lunches in the afternoons, a space for entertaining. It’s the kind of kitchen that makes you feel adult, like you have your life together, like you understand the importance of sharing these parts of your life. The creative play of childhood finally come to fruition.

If there was a chance that their paths end up crossing it would be....weird. Sweet Chili Motti (let's just call her Chili) would feel sympathetic and maybe a twinge of guilt that in her timeline she was able to find happiness and a stable relationship. Divorce Arc Motti would feel a bit confused on Chili's choice of partner but probably kick herself for thinking that given that she divorced Red. Chili would attempt to give advice and lend an ear, but it would be a little too late for that given how long it's been since DA! Motti and Red have been separated. Chili would probably take on the role of trying to help DA! Motti to find happiness, but given that Chili is with Baus, she feels weird lending advice to her other self to get back with Red.

Y'all know what I'm talking about right? Or is my ad-blocker not up to par?

Anyway so after legit reading those free first chapters so many times and refusing to finish them because I'd have to PAY for that trash, I've become so tempted to take one of my previously-established side-character werewolves and give her, like a divorce arc.
