As an Irish person this map is laughable. In my country you will be offered food whether you want it or not. You could have just come from a three course meal and you will be offered food at least three times and even then if you say no we’ll still put some out. The minute a guest comes to the house the kettle will be put on to make tea and food will be prepared. Usually a guest will bring something as a gift (some biscuits or cake) and this will be laid out along with other food, sandwiches or nibbles at least or a full meal depending on the type of visit. I have never been to someone’s house or had anyone in my house without food being consumed. Of course personal experiences may vary but I wouldn’t trust this map.
