Mostly because since Roen was born, we've only really been in Europe, so felt nice to bring her oot here and show her off to all oor mates in this part of the world. Exactly. If you're not genuinely excited about what you're adapting, then you probably shouldn't be the one doing it. You're taking something people already love, and if you're approaching it with indifference or worse, contempt, you'll end up ruining it for the people who've been waiting years to see it brought to life properly. Greta clearly adored the story, and every change felt thoughtful rather than change for the sake of it. It still felt like Little Women, just through her own lens. That's the sweet spot, isn't it? Honouring what made people fall in love with something in the first place while still bringing enough of yourself to make it feel alive instead of just copying what already exists.

Exactly, because the folk that are watching it are gonnae be the diehards first, the normies second. If ye get the diehards onside, the rest will follow. I could gush about Greta as a director and storyteller til the coos come home, look at what she did with Barbie as another great example. Took something so iconic and added her own spin on it and made one of the most iconic movies of the decade. Cannae wait to see her Narnia adaptation next.

pretty fascinating, isn't it? i've lived in the states since i was 15 and lots of people say i've lost my aussie accent over time. pretty sure they're right too. italy is gorgeous so i'm glad you and yours girls were enjoying it for a bit. pretty cool that our kids get to explore so much of the world, eh? i'm on tour at the moment so new place almost every night. it's a hell of a time so far.

I first moved to London when I was about 22, fresh out of drama school, and didnae get a place back in Scotland again until I was nearing 30, but still spend a lot of time down in London. Still have folks asking me what the fuck am saying half the time. So nae mellowing of the accent for me. But I've known Scottish folk who've no lived there in 40 odd years and still got the accent. Maybe just says a lot about our personalities, us Scots are notoriously stubborn. Tours are nuts, couldnae be in a place for such a short amount of time, would drive me crazy knowing there's all that exploration out there that I cannae partake in.

I know, the bairn is a jetsetter already, just like her parents. Making the most of it whilst I can. It's nice when me and Sersh both arenae working, especially now we've got a kid to keep us busy. The States has been treating us nicely, the Americans suddenly love the Scots even more now, because of the Tartan Army making a big impact during the World Cup. She's growing up way too quickly, ye know. No allowed.

would you consider it to be one of the hardest instruments to learn how to play ? yeah, i figured a piano is nothing compared to them. they look easy from the outside, but usually that means it's more complicated to play them. and that's coming from someone who has zero knowledge about playing any instruments. i mean, aside from watching people play them on the daily in the past. i still don't know what haggis or tartans are, even if you say they're a given. so either you enlighten me, or i'll keep wondering about this for the rest of my life.

Of the more well known ones, aye definitely. Woodwind instruments are generally pretty hard, ye gotta know what to do with yer mouth and yer breathing. Hands off to anybody who can do that shite. Haggis is one of those things that if I describe it to ye, it'll gross ye out, but as long as you're no a veggie, you'll likely love it if ye try it. Tartans are fancy patterns originally used by clans when they would meet up and feast together, or fight one another. Think of it like a flag, but it's clothing and just a certain pattern and colour to represent a family.

Well I know what Im telling Stella. Yeah but you are my absolute weirdo. But honestly, I miss her too! We definitely need to plan a reunion when we get back. Are you following through, or promising to on a divorce threat over the word 'soccer'? I won't be apologizing...what you going to do now fool? If the next Spain game is in LA, I will actually, absolutely agree we have to take him. Even if you can't promise anything right now, just the fact that it's on the radar is a win for him, we havent decided what it is for me yet.

i honestly just want to see who they do choose to play bond, just for all the speculating that has gone on forever. and mighty ducks? now that is a classic and worth begging for. you've got good taste, not to mention going to that set every day would be so nostalgic. i think everyone who's been mentioned in the running should just start lying and saying they've got the role. maybe then the press will stop asking when it has record of like 30 guys saying they're james bond. i can't blame you there when distance is such a tough thing to navigate when you're working on different things. better to be there in person supporting each other through the long days, you know?

Me too, could be anybody, might be somebody we've never heard of, that's sorta the beauty of it. As long as they're right for the role, that's the only thing that matters. Loved Mighty Ducks so much when I was a bairn, got me parents to take me to hockey lessons, and I was so shite I gave up after about a month. That would be funny as fuck, might start doing that when I'm asked. Aye, exactly. The brief times we've worked separately at the same time, it's been pure torture. We try to work around each other's schedules so we can follow the other when they're working. Which is great because ye get to crash each other's sets. That's the best fun.

There's a beauty in that. We'll definitely have to, I find it fascinating, how folks develop different accents over time. I've got all sorts of stories about them. Just been in Italy, Sersh was shooting a movie there, then we hung around for a few weeks after to explore the city, and have Roen fall deeply in love with Italy like us. Now we're in LA for a wee bit, figured it was time to come oot here and have Roen enjoy more of the world. She cannae get enough of it, I swear. Face always lighting up at all these shiny new places.
