Hm... Yeah, I think I remember what my trainer told me...
Here, so the Oka Sho is a turf 1600 meter track, so obviously you need to train your speed and power as priority, but there's more to it than just that. I usually focused on simply honing my body as best as I was able.. But my trainer paid close attention to the little details, and it makes a big difference!
On the Oka Sho track in particular, it's a large horseshoe shape, with a majority of the track being a long curve. Importantly, the late race is marked by the end of that curve, the tightest curve on the track. It's nothing huge, but practicing rounding corners especially and prioritizing training on curved tracks will give you an advantage over the other racers.
