i mean the writing did go downhill big time but he was such a beautifully complex character with so much potential for greatness

and the whole team !!!!! Listen i am a big klance enjoyer but it really is majority of the fandom at this point. And liking klance shouldn’t mean hating every other ship, i dont really think it made sense for lance and allura to get together within the show but i do love to see the potential in fan content ! I love exploring other dynamics !! And everyone should be open to that ! AND OMG YES FOR THE LOVE THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO EVERYTHING THAN KLANCE ! BRANCH OUT !! there are so many other amazing characters that deserve just as much praise and love !! They too have complex and interesting stories and personalities. I mean allura lost her entire planet, family, species, everything she knew and then got thrown into this huge responsibility with these very unfamiliar people. She had no time to grieve or process. And Shiro ! He similarly was just thrust into this role and responsibility with no time to process his capture and trials and all. He suddenly has this huge responsibility to lead these young children into intergalactic war !! He so much more than “space dad” !! I so wish we had more Coran lore oh my god i love him. Pidge losing her family to a space research mission gone wrong, fabricating an identity to get into the garrison essentially infiltrating for information. She finds herself in space lightyears away and does everything in her power to find them. All of this at such a young age. And that could create such an interesting dynamic with allura ! She’s young but she is powerful ! And she also gets babied a lot just for being the youngest. and hunk my darling boy. He’s another character i feel like we don’t get much information on. We get a little glimpse at his family but not much information. We know he loves to bake, i hadn’t considered it butthat also does seem to be his whole personality in a lot of fan made media. And yes he obviously has major anxiety in the beginning but also not his whole personality guys !! And he does to some degree learn to move past it as the show goes on.

And like hello guys they all just lost everything they know and were given this sudden position of leading a revolution against the largest empire to exist that’s been conquering the universe for at least 10,000 years. that’s huge ! They are all under so much pressure and they handle it insanely well from an outside perspective.

oh my god and don’t get me started on the redemption arc lotor could have had !! aaaaa there was so much potential !!!

and so much room for imagining life at the garrison and the other students there! the freaking MFE pilots oh my goooddddddd

um anyways i did not mean to go on that much but i have to stop myself now. There is just sooooo much more to explore than just klance.

Like people seem to forget that you can be insecure and still confident. Sometimes it's not a persona, but we are all still allowed to be flawed. Two things can exist at the same time. Like you said, he's a soldier and like the others proves that time and time again. Plus I didn't say this in my previous post, but people seem to play up how much the team joke about Lance. Like yeah you can joke about a friend and not actually mean what you say or think. It's genuinely just banter that can definitely at times affect a person but isn't mean spirited.

ANS OH MY GOSH, WE SKIMMED OVER ALLURA SO MUCH. like yes the writing did focus on her in the later seasons but the potential was never fully utilized. What her death means for Romelle and Coran is not focused on at all. Her constant sacrifices for the team, from her physical stability, mental, and even giving the last of her heritage to Shiro (the crystal to save him) is so undervalued. Hunk's screen time I agree is also so small, but his subtle growth had massive potential to be a focus throughout the seasons. From season one we see him shedding his nervousness for the sake of saving people, and then even shaping up Galra troops in Omega Shield and keeping the team together in Journey Within. Like his journey should have had the same attention the writers gave to others.

AND THE GARRISON PILOTS ONG. ONE OF MY FRIENDS FORGOT THEM ENTIRELY WHEN I WAS TALKING ABOUT THEM I WAS GOING TO SCREAM
