So Passive Nightmare and Corrupted Nightmare are the same person, but the corruption still had a hold on him, making him more violent, sadistic and all that stuff, so getting rid of it is still Dream's goal, and he eventually succeeds ! Dream manages to remove the corruption and get his brother back to being normal again

The gang is separated, they go to rehabilitation centers, and Nightmare stays with Dream because even if the corruption is gone it had been years so he has to be rehabilitated too (and clean his reputation) and Dream is in charge of it

Dream is obviously happy to have his brother back and does his best so he feels at home in the Omega timeline despite people not liking him still ( rightfully so )

Dream really does everything so that his twin is happy, and even if Nightmare does seem generally content he can see that there is a lingering sadness that keeps resurfacing, and Nightmare doesn't wanna talk about it so Dream worries he is doing something wrong, that he missed something and can't make his brother happy despite his efforts, despite loving him and supporting him through the journey of redemption...

Until they are taking a walk one day and someone calls out for Nightmare in the distance, so they turn around and see that it is his gang ! Who just got out of rehab ! And almost immediately, Nightmare has the brightest smile on his face and is running to them to hug them and be reunited after so long because they missed each other so much

And Dream realizes

His brother was never going to be happy with him

No matter what he does, no matter what he could do, Nightmare would have never been happy with him, because he is already happy with them, and if Dream really loves him, he has to let him go with them

Dream is probably a trans man but its more complicated then that. I’ve explained before that dreams gender has been dictated by the people around him, he’s been forced to be a girl, then a boy, then will be forced to be a girl once again.

However it’s important to note while dream was told to be a boy after being raised as a girl, he found a lot of meaning and comfort within masculinity. Dream really enjoys taking in a masculine protective role. He experiences his gender most positively when he’s in knights armour or is being referred to as the knight of hope.

And once he is forced to be a girl again, I’m sure that experience will emphasize just how comfortable he got with being a boy.

I don’t know if I stated before he will have a forced detransition arc. Dreams experience with gender is quite messy and dark and it’s very intertwined with his relationship with his groomer,, or I guess god.

I use him as a way to explain my own messy experience with transitioning. in my life I’ve had people force me to be diffrent genders. Not out of care for my self expression but for their own pleasure. In that I don’t think dream at the beginning of nw sees himself as trans and I personally wouldn’t label him as trans man then. Only until he’s forced to be a girl again he realizes he’s found value in that previous expression

A value not assigned by those who control and abuse him, but value he’s found all by himself. And his new need to be something that people force him not to be, a yearning to be his true gender expression- I think that’s when he becomes trans. The anchorite memory explaining how she found her gender finally makes sense in dreams mind. Maybe in that moment it’s the first time dreams ever chosen something for himself, and it’s definitely the first dreams ever decided he was a person

Fresh is an enigma I think. I think an important thing to establish is unlike ink he doesn’t actually like worshiping his god. Truly fresh wants to commit reality bending mischief without being tied to the rules of the Host god (god of fannon)

Ink worships creation because he sees the greater scheme of the multiverse and decides to orientate himself to the closest thing that’s real (creators and creation). Fresh as well sees beyond the veil of reality and by god is he fucking bored. He doesn’t find creators appealing to worship at all, Infact he sees readers, creators, and anons as lazy absent minded gods with simple attention spans.

Fresh desperately wants to be a violent person. He finds chaos and cruelty infinitely more interesting then facilitating the same fluffy coffee shop found family fannon aus. He gets a few darker fannon aus, be it your infection stories and angst fics. But it’s simply not enough.

Ironically he’s physically unable to hurt a fly or even mutter a blatant threat or curse. Fresh is sanitized because of the will of the host and he hates it.

But he’s forced to smile and sparkle on regardless of his feelings. What he truly desires is freedom but when your the right hand of a God you are no better then a puppet.

I don’t know if enc (ink) is aware of fresh being like this, I think he belives him to be creepy and a freak, but he is at a high status similar to himself. Though I’m sure they would have theological discussions and enc could pick up on shards of bitterness in the demons tone.. suspicious at the very least.

Fresh is used to facilitate the greater plan to bring the host a requested worshipper. I’ve explained before pj and Gradient exist to be potential candidates for that( because the host was so fond of ink’s loyalty and wanted essentially a clone of ink). Fresh takes the place as the families “landlord” the parasite has invaded most of their personal lives to monitor and weigh the potential in each of the children.

However fresh is manipulating this plan to his own advantage, there’s one factor that the host is unaware of and fresh has been intentionally neglecting. This connects back to what both atrophy and horror are doing, but for fresh it’s his one chance at freedom.

I think atrophy has a fascination with all human fashion subcultures, including scene. He at least has one outfit per fashion subculture

Yes there are but If I think about it I don’t have any that go strictly by they/them. Which is my fault for not realizing that deficit

Anyways Memory identifys as Transfem nonbinary pretty blatantly. Her main pronouns are She/they/it

Palette will be more nonbinary and will go by every pronoun ever

Scell is nonbinary and he will be closest to being a he/him enby butch

This is hard because there’s characters that should be non binary but they’ve decided to dedicate themselves to some freakish god (not naming names cough) and their gender is “whatever is closest to god” kinda like in a Gabriel ultrakill way.

There’s also characters who identify as soulless objects- who weren’t raised with genders or were dehumanized to the point where they don’t really connect to gender anymore. Like Psych isn’t considered a boy or a girl he is a blood production machine. He’s assigned nothing at birth

Characters like memory were also forced into that gendered class of being an object, memory takes and active effort to engender themselves even if not in a binary way. Atrophy is similar, he was raised as a toy or a ritual object, genderless in that way and not expected to be anything besides that. Opposite to memory he genders himself only with extreme binaries.

God atrophy I could go on about him but that’s not what you asked…

There’s a lot or technically nonbinary characters but less “I’m happy and I express myself this way”

God he’s weird

Atrophy’s… gender exists to be loved by others and admired is the best way I can put it. If Hprror wanted a submissive “traditional wife” Atrophy would be that for him. If Psych wanted a strong masculine authority figure to praise him Atrophy would be that too. Usually is binaries

It’s comparable to his body as he shapes himself to the preferences of the people around him. Horror wants him skinny so he’s skinny. It’s that simple

But it’s also not simple because I don’t think Atrophy knows what he is. He embodies an experience I struggled with gender wise with my BPD. I really had no identity outside of the relationships with whoever I was obsessed with.

His gender also is preformed to make himself feel confident and superior to others. It’s not so much a “man” or “woman” because what he makes himself into is a flat version of those genders. Not a single flaw or struggle will be shown in that presentation. He doesn’t like acting out the complexities of those situations in a genuine way.

Even if there’s no label I can give him I think he’s one of the most queer characters. He has the obviously “queerest” personality I guess.

When atrophy isn’t intentionally performing for others he’s a very depressed hollow person. I think it’s fair to argue he’s quite feminine even under everything. Not in the feminity way he purposely projects but.. feminine dispair??

At the end of the day he is the loyal bride of the atomized. Maybe to him that’s the most real gendered experience he has, it’s disgusting but it represents everything he wants to be- hot, constantly watched, and eventually killed

So all I can say is probably fem leaning presentation and gender wise? Though I don’t know how else more to pin point it.

I don’t think any interaction he has with any gender feels straight though haha definitely not.
