I love learning about the history of some of our favorite cosmetics!

Time saving because I do the work week’s worth of coffee all at once; no multiple trips for coffee, and that’s also how it’s gas saving. The mom saving is because I can just grab it from my fridge and go; no chaos, no loading up kids in the car, no children crying because the drive thru line is torture, etc. How To below ⬇️ the video.

How I do it:

I brew my coffee right into the reusable glass bottle. The glass bottles I use are 16oz and I use the 12oz cup size on my Keurig. This leaves enough room for cocoa later.

I mix one packet of hot cocoa mix with 4 oz of hot water. Make sure you stir to dissolve.

Then add the cocoa to your coffee. Once cooled, put the lid on your bottle, and refrigerate.

Repeat until you have your desired amount of coffee. I usually make 5 at a time.

Shake before drinking. Some settling is to be expected.

I was thrilled to discover the Falscara Overnighter. Being able to apply lashes that last up to ten days…whaaaat?! That sounds amazing. And the price, way cheaper than getting extensions.

Application wasn’t too bad. I’ve done the regular Falscara lashes a couple times before. First time was a fail, too much seal and they fall off instantly. After a few attempts, on separate occasions, I was able to get satisfactory results. I was very excited to try with the Overnighter. The part I was looking forward to the most was the ability to apply them a day or two before getting married so lashes would be one less thing I’d need to worry about on the day of.

The instructions seemed simple and almost the same as the regular Falscara set. However I open the Overnighter and it comes with almost a liquid liner type brush…the picture shows the girl applying it like a mascara wand half way up through the lashes…hmmmm. The section is saying to apply the Overnighter, there’s a little tip that says to apply under the whisps and slightly away from the whisp band.

Questions start to arise. Am I to run this through the lashes as the picture illustrates or only under and slightly away from the band? Is this under (like the actual underside of the whisps) and above the band or below the band on my skin? I have no idea, it’s black liquid with and liner type brush. So I try both ways.

Applying the Overnighter to the whisps themselves, they are no longer whisps. They look like clumped up gobs of lashes. The whisps come with individual sections of criss crossed lashes, so running liquids through them with a brush undoes this or creates chunky sections of lashes. Applying the Overnighter to the lash line itself seems more natural and doesn’t create the clumpy lashes. But I found applying this way doesn’t make sense because what is it really doing to provide longer lasting lashes when the whisps are attached to your lashes and not the skin.

Either way, the whisps were on now. I wasn’t completely happy with the results and the application process, but unless you stood two inches from my face they looked ok. I decided to keep them on.

Cut to waking up the day after application. It’s 5:30 am. I open my eyes and left eyelid feels a little stiff. Raise my hand to my eyelid and find the whisps are straight up and stuck to my eyelid. I went to check in the bathroom mirror but I’m not fully awake yet and the light is too bright for my newly awaken self. I snapped a pic on my phone and confirm the whisps are indeed stuck to my eyelid. I peel them off my eyelid and try to figure out what happened. They are not sticky feeling. I check in the mirror again now that I’ve adjusted to the light and they are still upward but now not flush with my eyelid, just sticking slightly out, but straight up.

Will I do it again: probably not, especially for what I wanted to wear them for.

Adventures in Ramen - 2:

As I continue on my instant ramen journey, I decided to blindly trust Masaharu Morimoto again today and chose the only other option in my Sapporo Ichiban variety pack with his face on the packaging. Unlike yesterday with the Tokyo Chicken, this flavor was unknown to me and I decided to take a leap of faith, trying it with no prior knowledge of what Tonkotsu was.

Masaharu Morimoto did not let me down! This ramen had a creamy, savory broth with sesame seeds. It really hit the spot on this cold winter’s day.

Maddox, a toddler whose current love is bananas, protested by throwing her banana across the room demanding her own noodles. She excitedly ate her portion of ramen with continuing “num nom mmms” between each bite. Her only complaint was that she couldn’t pick up her noodles with the chop sticks she stole out of mommy’s hand.

Ranking my ramen experience:

1. Sapporo Ichiban Tokyo Chicken

2. Sapporo Ichiban Tonkotsu

I did a little post-ramen enjoyment research. Tonkotsu is a broth traditionally made with pork bones. So for my peeps joining me on this journey, now we know.

Adventures in Ramen - 1:

Don’t Amazon while hungry. The other day I wanted ramen but not that garbage we grew up on so I bought 12 different flavors in a variety of brands to the tune of like $100. I repeat, don’t Amazon while hungry.

As this adventure begins on my ramen noodle path, I decided to start with this one...mainly because I recognized the word chicken on the pack and it has Masaharu Morimoto on the packaging. If you don’t know who Masaharu Morimoto is; I’m sorry - watch some Iron Chef - Google him - he’s my fave!

Pros:

The packaging is far superior than than previous brands I’ve had.

The noodles come round so they fit in your pan.

There’s a soup pack with seasoning and vegetables and a liquid seasoning pack.

The noodles taste like real pasta.

The broth tastes like Masaharu Morimoto’s grandmother simmered it, from a secret recipe, all day long in my kitchen.

Cons:

I liked it so much I’m afraid to try the others now. Will they be better or has the bar been set too high?

The cooking instructions ask you to measure your water in ml...luckily my Pyrex measuring cup had that option.

I recommend everyone throw out that 99¢ trash immediately. What have we been eating our entire lives? Why have we settled for this sad substitution for ramen. They’re junk; plain noodles in a semi flavored salt water. Stop eating them!
