Lovecraft’s brain broke on fucking non-Euclidean geometry, child’s play. Like- spherical geometry is a non-issue, hyperbolic sucks but you can at least kinda see what you’re doing, it’s just very warped 3d space, the brand of non-Euclidean geometry that exists in pop culture with 5 sided squares like. Again annoying, but it’s 3d space with memorization puzzles involved. I cannot. Fucking. Grasp. What a tesseract should look like. Doesn’t matter how much 4d golf I play, doesn’t matter how many gifs and videos and web viewers I peruse, I’ve looked at a goddamn pop up book with explanations and nope! That’s just a fancy cube! I cannot. Fourth dimension it. And I REALLY can’t grasp shit like this

i will forgive you for slandering my sweet darling The Tiger because that is a stunningly gorgeous rainbow Tiger you have on display here. all i have is my crunchy orange 4d golf one

look at that compass do its thing!! 4 dimensions means another set of cardinal directions, for a total of 6. our outdated brain software can still only make sense of 4 at a time though, so to in order to see the rest of the Tiger we have to change our perspective.

think of it like tilting and moving your head to get a better view down a curved tunnel. all you're really doing is building a mental map of something you can't see all at once :]
