...what
This is already going wild places Im-
TO SOMEONE ON CHEMO TH0UGH??
What must their home life be like. Like if these are their power games. What goes on behind closed doors. What the fuck.
Naruto running my way out of here is my new catchphrase
psyduck is probably like. the most achievable pokemon probably. like i donât think i could teach a cabbage to grow legs and be a bulbasaur but thereâs probably a certain threshold of mental torment i could subject a duck to that would make a psyduck
âwhat about rattataâ âwhat about woolooâ âwhat about pidgeyâ none of you understand me or my art. i donât mean animals that look like pokĂŠmon or could be dressed up like ones iâm explicitly talking about what i could do to an animal that would make it capable of performing destructive psychic attacks
Mareep is a great alternative consideringimg you could try to conduct electricity with it. :)
I laughed way too hard at this

I saw your recent ask about describing character design and I was wondering how you would do that for clothes, especially high detail garments and accessories.
Tips on How To Describe Clothing
1. Â Donât Go Overboard
Over-describing clothing can get in the way of the flow of your scenes, so keep it short and sweet.
Do your readers really need to know what each of the five rings your character is wearing looks like?Â
Do they really need to know that your characterâs jeans have exactly five rips in them or that theyâre wearing this very one specific Gucci shirt that you saw online and are now describing in depth for no reason?
You donât have to info-dump everything about a characterâs outfit the moment they walk in, because being completely honest, your narrator probably wonât notice all that stuff right off the bat. Stick to the basics and defining features for the first look, and you can always sprinkle in descriptions during the dialogue. Â
2. Clothing can help the readers get to know your character: Make It Count!
Saying that a character walks in wearing jeans and a T-shirt doesnât say all that much about them. I mean, you can infer some things, but itâs pretty basic and could be worn by anyone. Clothing is an excellent way to show and not tell your audience about your character, and you should utilize it to the fullest!
Take this example:
A character walks in. She has eight studs in each ear, holographic Doc Martens, ripped jeans, and a T-shirt with some obscure band logo on it. The shirt is discolored in places from when sheâd spilled bleach and tried to use her black hair dye to re-stain it.
Before sheâs even opened her mouth, you already have a good idea of what this character is going to be like in a matter of two sentences. Readers can piece together assumptions about a character just by their outfit alone, and it can save you a whole lot of time later.
Things you can describe about an outfit that can help give it personality:
Certain logos or patterns
The color
The condition (stains, rips, frays, etc.)
The style (Doc Martens and leather jackets to go for a more grunge/goth/punk aesthetic, loose-fitting sweaters and glasses for academia, sweatpants and sweatshirts for people who donât care much for the status quo, etc.)
The fit (loose, tight, etc.)
Self-alterations (ie T-shirt cut sloppily into crop top, jeans rolled up, addition of pins/patches/paintings, etc.)
3. Setting Counts!
A character that lives in Minnesota isnât going to go strutting around in booty shorts and a tank top in the dead of winter.Â
Someone from a different country may not wear the same things as people in America.Â
People from cities may be more fashion-forward, while people from the country choose their fashion more based on usefulness.Â
People from different time periods will wear different clothes depending on gender presentation, social class, and country of originâso research accordingly!
Scene-by-scene setting also counts!Â
If a character walks into an important meeting in pajamas, itâll tell the readers a lot about who they are as a person, so dress your character accordingly for every situation. Do they not care about how they look, or are they very dress to impress for every possible occasion?
4. Stick to What Your Narrator Knows
You mightâve researched all different kinds of fabric and styles from around the world, but unless your character is a cultural anthropologist or a fashion major, they probably wonât know what you know!
Will your character who lives off the land, has no internet, and hasnât gone to school since the 60s really know what chiffon is, or will they just say âtranslucent mesh fabricâ?Â
Will your character who doesnât normally don feminine clothing know what an A-line drop hem fit and flare dress is? Will your character know the minute technical details of clothing from different countries or cultures?
The chance is that they wonât, so donât try to dump all your research onto your readers: some of them might not know these things, either!
I hoped this helped, and happy writing!
My mom taught me to exaggerate my pain so that doctors would take me seriously and all I'm saying is that it hasn't failed me yet
Listen. If you're a Black Woman you absolutely should exaggerate your pain.
We're dying because these doctors refuse to take us seriously. If you feel like something is off exaggerate it until they test for it. We've gotta advocate for ourselves
Seriously yall. Doctors would rather you be in pain than have to actually diagnose you. Some doctor stans gon be mad but damn if it took 10 years for them to successfully diagnose my mom after she was telling them textbook recounts of what she was experiencing and if it took 8 years for my aunt experiencing terrible indescribable pain in her stomach that they could have EASILY xrayed her for to which they actually did after literal fuckin years of her crying they found that the last operator on her left shit in her stomach. Then yes doctors don't fucking care aboht patients anymore. Its a money business and you're a dollar sign to them. May be some legit ones out there but in my experience its been "you're fine, heres some shit that won't help." Because nothing fuckin changes.
So many stories of people having to see 3,4 different doctors with the same symptoms just to get someone that'll run all the tests so they can get a diagnosis
I had all the classic symptoms of Multiple sclerosis 4 years ago. I mean textbook symptons. A disease which has no cure and which best hope is to get on treatment as soon as you see symptoms to delay or stop disease progression.
I went to my doctor after the er discharged me with âstressâ and said âhelp my face is numb and Iâm scared. He looked at me in my face and said âwell what do you want me to do about it?â I had to beg to see a neurologist. The neurologist refused to let me speak and told me I was just stressed and refused to schedule me for an mri. Had she done that they would have found lesion on my brain.
4 years later I have now 2 lesions on my brain consistent with MS. I only found a doctor willing to take me seriously by happenstance after being hospitalized and refused a surgery that I would need anyway a few short months later. While on the hospital I was dismissed and refused pain medication unless I was literally screaming.
Fuck these doctors. Advocate for yourself hard.
âI want to copies of your documentation in my records of the symptoms I have reported and what actions were taken to respond to them.â
LISTEN ALL OF YOU BUT BLACK WOMEN ESPECIALLY
If a doctor refuses treatment or tests, say âI would like your refusal to treat documented in my chart.â
Then wait about 24 hours. (Partly for computer processing time, partly so if they think theyâre being smart and saying yes but not actually doing it theyâll think theyâre in the clear.)
Then call the doctorâs office AND SAY YOU WANT A COPY OF YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS.
If the refusal to treat isnât in your records, you now have a malpractice suit.
Very, very few doctors are going to risk that possibility. Theyâll bitch and moan when you ask for documentation, but theyâll run your tests.
As a comparison, by the way, hereâs a doctor who had nothing to hide: my momâs eye doctor when her eye started getting to the âItâs going to have to be physically removedâ stage. He met us at the office at 9pm, long after close, with his date, to give my mom an injection to try to relieve the pressure in the eye. (Luckily said date also worked at the clinic and completely understood why he was doing this. Heâs a great guy, he deserves a great lady.) I asked if he could note the exact time in her records, because the time needed between these injections was speeding up immensely. His reply:
âActually that could give us an idea how fast this is progressing. Yes. What time is it? Iâll look up her earlier visit when Iâm done.â
If your doctor isnât that eager to make these notes, demand documentation and try to find a new doctor ASAP. It will save your life.

a non-selective plan for the resurgence of fic commissions
Too many children in the comments like âI think authors should be able to share ko-fi links :) itâs just niceâ and âOP is just a cop.â Homie, OP is trying to keep AO3 fully functional without interruption. I will report your ass, too, because I value fic artists and our freedom of expression and my audience and our shared history far more than I value the few bux you wanna make on a commission.
It is not hard to link to your Tumblr or Twitter with a vague message like, âIf youâre looking for my other works or other ways of supporting me, go here: link.â I have had people buy me coffees after enjoying my fic and asking where to support me. I threw up a link to my Tumblr and people cared enough to follow it. They were fully understanding when I explained in the comments that they could not commission me and I could not link them directly to any donation platform, but they could go to xyz link to read more. And they did! Nobody has to put AO3 directly on the firing line.
Go ahead and commission independently. Just do it anywhere else except on AO3. And then donât come crying to the community when you, personally, get a C&D from a massive corporation.
AO3 is our bullet shield. Tumblr will pull your shit down. Wattpad wonât fucking protect you. LJ and FF.net already sold our asses for one (1) corn chip. AO3 is trying to protect us, you goddamn lemmings.
If you cannot follow the rules that protect fanspaces, you do not belong in our fanspaces.
The only people who misunderstand this are doing so intentionally and maliciously. Do yourself a favor and block the infants who think this isnât a big deal.
I always wondered what bakugou would think, what he would look like when he saw deku fights. Like when deku gives his all just to protect someone and.. this chapter showed it. This chapter showed bakugouâs pov.
Bakugou is worried and afraid because of Dekuâs Selflessness.
Bakugou knows because heâs been there. He knows because he saw.
How pure dekuâs heart isâŚ
And how deku would do anything to saveâŚ.
Even if it destroys himâŚ
I just want to add my two cents. I know that as the bakudeku fandom, weâve all probably analyzed the reasoning behind Katsukiâs actions to hell and back. Weâve taken a magnifying glass to how their faces are drawn and how panels are portrayed.
But whatâs nice about the way Horikoshi portrays them is that all of those theories do have pay off later in the story. These little nuances in the way Katsuki and Izuku are fundamentally written are not just coincidental but well planned. Thatâs why even though My Hero Academia may not always have the best art or story, itâs the expressiveness in the way characters are drawn which always has some deep seeded meaning. The characters are what keep us coming back even though admittedly, the series itself is otherwise pretty average.
Coming back to this post, thatâs why I love the curveballs Horikoshi threw at us here. Katsuki acknowledges that he knows, always knew, that Izuku was the type to never consider himself or have any self-preservation. It annoyed and scared him, making him want to keep his distance from Izuku. The bullying, the inferiority complex, and misinterpretating Izukuâs intentions towards him were all byproducts of that most basic and initial feeling even if they were subconscious. This adds many layers to the resentment towards Izuku that Katsuki has had from the very beginning. It wasnât just simple hate. That can be inferred from the nuances of his expressions and actions from the very beginning, from the way he desperately asked Izuku why the hell he wonât fight him already in Deku vs Kacchan 2 to him telling Izuku to never do that again after the other saved him from the slime monster. There are layers that not even Katsuki was aware of. You just have to look harder, and thatâs what the fandom had done. I have to applaud everyone who ever wrote a meta on these two, negative or not.
Now we are starting to see Katsukiâs feelings transform. Instead of Izukuâs limitless selflessness causing him to experience fear or desperate competitiveness, heâs instead starting to feel the need to protect Izuku so he doesnât hurt himself as a result of his limitless selflessness. Itâs a wonderful and senseful progression. I eagerly await what happens next alongside everyone else.
