there was the story of marjorie — she could've elaborated on that, she and majority of her fans share the common experience of being a woman so we could've had a song about what that means to her under the stardom and reputation, a song about a famous showgirl from the past, how women are constantly compared in media no matter how better they perform, their art being named as frivolous and only for teenage girls like there were SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES to make this album about the women's experience in the industry

instead we got an album about loving a man which isn't exactly a unique experience

i mean, her brand surrounds itself around giving what her fans want they want so, I don't know, this wasn't so hard to expect. I have no problem with an album about loving a man but calling it showgirl life is just stupid
