I wanna change this but idk what to

idk if this is controversial or not, but I really like when non-professional writing like fic has hints of author bleedthrough when it comes to like, what different people assume is common knowledge. Like sometimes I’ll be reading a fic and it’ll just be obvious that the person writing it is either obsessed with medicine or has been to medical school, because they’ll use terms that are just a shade too technical without explaining them. It’s never the super specific stuff that they’d know other people are unaware of, it’s always the things that once you’ve known it for a while you forget it’s niche knowledge. It’s fun because as a fanfic reader it reminds me of how this is a fun hobby community, where everyone has their own thing going on outside of fandom. Everyone’s got their own specialties and they can’t help but write that into their work sometimes

It would be funny if we were introduced to a vast galaxy of alien life and the blue whale was still the largest animal ever discovered. Like that’s the biggest life has ever gotten. That would be fucked. The blue whale is just the craziest animals would get even with the introduction of a seemingly infinite number of new species. Would you be disappointed or celebrate the enormity of our homegrown big ass creature?

can i say if you, like me, work and play On The Computer 90% of the time and you find yourself thinking "i gotta get outside more" the simplest and most effective way to do this with the highest success rate is not to try to change all your hobbies to be outdoorsy. it's to take computer outside.

some people may say this doesn't really count as going Outside, but to that i say that's because you only need to go outside metaphorically, which i can't help you with and tbh am a little bit contemptuous of as like a concept for a variety of reasons too long to get into here. but the fact stands that some of us need to literally Go Outside More, for which taking computer outside will in fact solve the issue. you may not think it counts but the sun which controls my vitamin D intake certainly does!
