I love Flowey undertale, but an aspect of his character I always wished we got to see more of was him as an allegory for physical disability, such as him talking about waking up in the garden for the first time and before even seeing himself realizing his arms and legs are missing. It’s not necessarily a wasted concept or a writing flaw, but it was just an aspect of him that I really appreciated despite it never really getting addressed past that one line of dialogue.
BUT THEN deltarune chapter 5 comes out with Flowery who repeatedly calls himself useless and talks about his guilt of Asgore having to care for him and the financial burden he sees himself as and his desperate attempts to “repay” Asgore for caring for him and him realizing he never had to be more than he already was for Asgore to love him because caring for him gave Asgore meaning just as much as Asgore’s love for him and his friends gave all of them meaning and “though I am broken I am more than glass” and the chapter literally ending with him actually becoming physically disabled and HOLY FUCK YES

I genuinely plan to when I can to make a post exploring disability, race, therianism, transness, poverty, and anattractionalism in regards to Flowery. Along with fandom reaction to him and the bigotry that underlies a lot of it.
