Still My Brother
Part 2
Chapter 1
Tw for body horror!:D
Donnie woke up in his bed, where he normally would. Only, it wasn't a normal morning. As he sat up, his head began to throb. He held it in his hands....or, what would have been his hands.....to try to ease the pain. He groaned a little bit. As he attempted to crawl out of his tent, his stomach shot pain throughout his body. He clutched it in pain.....or tried to clutch it. He took a look at his hands wondering why his fingers were not operating. There were no hands. Only casts wrapping around the ends of his arms.
He gave a sigh as he remembered the events of the last day. Just the thought of what had happened made Donnie feel sick. He gathered up his strength and pulled himself out of the orange tent. He slowly picked himself up and walked to the kitchen. It was strange to not hear Mikey singing a dumb song while fixing cereal for the others, or Leo and Raph having there daily Batman or Hulk argument. Donnie wrapped his arms around the back of a chair and pulled it out, taking a seat around the table. He looked around to see if his father or brother were anywhere.
Nope. He appeared to be the only one here....or at least, awake, for now.
Donnie sat at the table by himself for at least half an hour, haunted by the memories of the subconscious monster that had controlled him the last time he was awake. He looked at his hands again.
There weren't any enormous claws seeking to steal lives.
He felt around his mouth.
No fangs seeking to sink themselves into the flesh of a dear friend.
He hummed a bit.
There wasn't any harsh growling or snarling in his voice; only a soft, calm, gentle hum.
Donnie rested his head in folded arms on the table and gave out a relieved sigh.
He was normal again......for now, at least.
He looked at the clock at the top of the microwave. 7:30 am. Thirty minutes until school started. Donnie really, REALLY didn't want to go to school. School was only a reminder of what he'd lost. His brothers and him had worked so hard to to get where they were... No longer seen as monsters, heros of the city, kind of more like average teenage boys.....
They'd worked so hard and together to get there.
It felt selfish to go alone.
He looked at the clock again to find the date.
Tuesday.
Tuesday?
Donnie furrowed his brow.
It-the last time I checked it was Saturday!
Donnie's mind started filling with questions, as he tried to figure out what was going on. His head started to hurt worse than it already was. He shook off the questions invading his mind and tries to get up, but couldn't get a balance as a stabbing pain in his stomach started to attack him. He collapsed back into his chair and rubbed his arms against the sides of his shell.
You deserve this, a quiet voice whispered in Donnie's mind.
You deserve every bit of this pain; even more! Your brothers felt this pain much worse when you murdered them. And so did the other people that fell victim to you! This pain is nothing!
Donnie sat at the table as the voice clouded his thoughts. He did deserve this. He did deserve to be alone, he did deserve to be murdered in an even worse way than his brothers were, he did deserve this pain.
His head started throbbing.
He held it in his arms as a familiar burning sensation started to pulse through him.
He tried to calm down.
He tried to breathe.
But fear had gripped him tightly, and wasn't about to let go.
The voice got louder and louder and louder and
No, no, I don't want this! I'm not a monster! I'm NOT A MONSTER!! There's another answer to this, there's gotta be!
Donnie's heart beat faster and faster as he felt the gauze around his arm ripping and the familiar claws of death beginning to regrow.
Donnie didn't know what to do. He didn't want to become IT again!
In his desperation, he finally gave way to the one word he'd so refused to shout.
HELP! HELP, PLEASE!
He cried as loud as his clogging throat would let him. He shoved his claws underneath his arms and crawled under the table. The transformation had almost completed itself, leaving Donnie once again in the darkness. He closed his eyes tight as a long green tail began to tear out of his pajama pant, wishing for the horrible feeling to go away, and for someone to put their arms around him and tell him-
Donnie, it's gonna be ok.
