yellow skin can be a great fantasy skintone / stylization on characters so long as there as a deeper intention and care put into it so that it does not invoke negative depictions of asians. ( frisk unfortunately falls into the trap ) i understand the place of where people are coming from in arguments against the idea that it is racist and no, i do not believe toby fox had any intentions of invoking any stereotypes either, but it does not mean that it shouldn’t be questioned or called to change. i think if kris or frisk existed solely as themselves and chara had the same skintone it would be less dubious in my eyes. it is odd that humans in the undertale / deltarune universe are a bright , saturated yellow when even noelle is given the grace of a warmer color pallete for her brown fur. is it really a big deal to say “ i think frisk / kris would benefit from a more natural skintone?” without the malicious compliance of “oh, we’ll just make them PALE”. it helps no one and frankly you just seem like a colorist jerk who cannot fathom the idea of playing as a tan ( or god forbid brown ) protagonist

ngl I flinch every time I go to reblog a Carl post and it says something about how Grace is his best friend or so important to him or w/e - like I'm sorry he is literally at work, we get no hint of his personal life, and the fact that his customer service facade IS undeniably Grace's best friend is part of the tragedy. not even a dog, and not even a single friend who isn't being paid to be there. because Grace either can't tell or actively prefers it that way.

this is a post about how the fandom automatically centering a Black characters' entire life story around his white boss-coded coworker is racist. and also about how some of Grace being alone is his own damn fault for being comfortable in his privilege. but mostly the lazy racism in assuming what is portrayed in canon is magically devoid of real life power dynamics, despite trading on tropes heavily based on those same dynamics ("soft" sad white guy who gets to angrily punch stuff, Black man with a sense of humor in an armed career, german lady runs a government agency that does questionable things, etc etc, it's even worse in the book). as I said in my original tags, its fine if you want to try and improve this for a fic, but you need to actually do something about the underlying causes instead of just papering over them, bc that makes you look like you agree with the racism of the text.

gotta say it, ryan gosling is the worst thing about this fandom by a country mile. like. mormon canadian child actor. horrifying. looks like a white supremacist wet dream and I'm pretty sure it's on purpose. is this not creepy to anyone else? does the mormon blandness not put anyone else off??
