I don't understand the hate towards Lawlight's age gap. Sure, 7 years apart is a great deal and no normal 17 year old should be dating a 24 year old. And no normal 17 year old should commit guiltless mass murderer.

I'm sorry people, are we seriously worried that Light Yagami, a.k.a mass murderer Kira, a.k.a God of the New World, a.k.a second smartest person on the planet, a.k.a old enough to be convicted and sent to DEATH, is what, not old enough to understand power dynamics and enter this relationship with fully informed consent?

Light toying with power dynamics, especially with L is at least 46% of the show.

Saw someone saying that it was weird to ship them because a 24 year old and a 17 year old are at "two drastically different stages on their lives". Normal ones, sure, but bro, bro Light Yagami and L Lawliet are not normal people. That's the plot of the show. They ARE going through the same deal. There's a whole ass song about it in the musical. They're two sides of the same coin.

thinking about death note musical again and how they play with the purpose of songs and character balance. like how L is always the one to start singing to higher notes whenever he gets the chance. because he's hungry for the hunt. because he's greedy and childish and will up the game any moment he gets. or how light's vocals mainly stay towards the ground, except for when he sings that duet with soichiro. or when he sings at L's final moments. both of which are moments he's trying to convince another of something. first trying to convince his father that he could never stoop as low to kira's genocide. then trying to convince L that he's won. that he won. he won. he won. he won. get it through your head.
