I am replaying OYHS for the third time and this are some notes i wrote while playing:
I fuckin love this game. This first chapter is truly spectacular. I think is for now may favorite IF of yours, and thats is saying something because i also really liked EC and WWC.
One of the secondary character is am the most interested is Franky. De looks like the closest thing Sky has to a father figure and is so fuckin sad. Specially when he seems to notice Sky more than their mother. Makes me think a lot about his relationship with her and how it started.
On that note, i am curious how Sky father will be aboarded, if he will at all. Part of me does think it may be just another kid being stupid, but the themes of this story lend me to believe it will be way more unconfortable than that.
really, really love Mallory, that's it. She is so fun to read. Her humour and the fact she sucks as a mother despite loving her kid, she just doesnt know how to be that.
I am really anxious (in a good sense) to see more of Margemta. Not as a RO, since my first run is a male Sky, but she seems more willing to talk about acting as a art? My Sky seeing acting as a way to feel close to his mother, and wants to be a successful actor because of her. So I think a friendship/mentorship with Margenta might bring forth his actual passion for acting buried under mountains of his mommy issues.
Roger was really cute. Gonna miss him.
I also really liked the Intermission, gives a really nice charm to the story.

I’m glad you noticed franky — I haven’t had many comments on the fact that he is very much the closest thing Sky has to a responsible parent
You’ll eventually met Sky’s father. So I know who he is in present day 1936. What I’m going back and forth on is how evil I want to make him though… maybe only a tiny bit evil or maybe a monster idk

Yeah magenta very much sees acting as an art. She doesn’t like when people do it for fame, money or any other reason that isn’t love. How many stars genuinely loved it but since Hollywood is exclusive weren’t given space? It’s hard for her to find actors who want to talk shop and so she’s seen as the antisocial weirdo who takes herself too seriously (as she should she’s an excellent actress)
I love the intermission — although I did have quite a few people confused as to why calliope said something that contradicted what you were seeing. I think I’m going to have to make a disclaimer that it’s intentional and it’s a theme about parasocial relationships
