if you see anon posters telling you KOSA or KIDS Act is a done deal... be wary and ask whose narrative that serves
who does that benefit?
what actions does it suggest are not necessary?
be wary of anyone that claims a policy is inevitable.

Internet Freedom: Good News and Bad News
The Bad: the Senate committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation voted unanimously to send S 1748 (their version of the Kids Online Safety Act) to the full Senate chamber for a future floor vote
The Good: the same committee failed to move the online age verification bill S 737 (their version of the SCREEN act) out of committee due to not getting enough votes to reach quorum
Also, friendly reminder that the Senate is starting a 5 week recess this Friday. Be sure to use every day of it to call, email, text, and write letters to your senators telling them to oppose S 1748 in the future floor vote. If you can, try to attend their town halls. We killed this bill before, and we can do it again!
Hello, i hope your days going well, i have a question, do you know of any countries that don't have any age verification or censorship laws? Im trying to set up a VPN, but it feels every place in the world has atleast one of these stupid laws
It's impossible to keep track of these laws passing or already there, hopefully we see these laws backfire so hard that no one wants to push this anymore
KOSA & SCREEN act Aug 5th Markups
The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee is considering both KOSA (the Kids Online Safety Act) & the SCREEN Act today, August 5th. These bills will
make our access to the internet a lot harder to do, without being forced through nation wide age verifications and online censorship online, all while putting our privacy and security at risk for data breaches from poorly run verification companies. Please contact your scenators either through email, or phone call and demand them to reject these bills.
