Skull with mushrooms and lichen WIP. I think it came out pretty cool, and I definitely want to make more. Sorry for the crappy lighting and photos...one day Iāll get it right, lol.
What did I do with my snow day? Just made some cups for drinking the blood of my fallen enemies... Or wine or juice, you know
I will definitely be making more of these and putting them on my abandoned etsy, because they're awesome and so much fun to make
Figurative Lantern WIP.Ā
This is a combination of a few things I wanted to try out. I wanted to try doing cut outs of clay as well as testing cellulose fiber for paper clay. I found an article on ceramicartsdaily.com about different kinds of materials to use for paper clay and their pros/cons. I went with the cellulose fiber and I like working with it a lot. It doesn't stink like paper clay made with toilet paper!Ā
This piece is only the very beginning of working with this paper clay and I'm excited to see where it goes. (This pieceĀ still needs some cleaning up a bit)
Here is the article if you want to check it out and do a bit of your own experimentation [X]
Mini Portrait Studies- WIP
I took a bit of a break over the holidays, but I'm back in the studio with eager fingers. They're all about 3 1/2 inches tall, and I loved working at this scale. I'll definitely make more pieces like this soon

Functional work!! I haven't thrown/ made functional work since college so I decided to switch it up a bit. the Bottle is slab and coil built and the rest are thrown. I used underglazes a bit of sgraffito and inlay. Hopefully if the work looks nice I'll start up my etsy and make more
A Raku figure WIP. I had a bit of fun with her hair. Can't wait to see her done
The second piece from the NHIA anagama firing. I love all of the colors and textures happening on it. I'll also be getting this piece photographed nicely, so an "official" post will be happening soon
One of my pinecone ladies from the wood firing at NHIA's anagama. The other one broke, so she didn't make it in. I'm happy with how she came out. Its much better in person. I should be getting nice photos of her soon you'll probably see her in a more official post at a later date
The Glory Hole! (side stoking of the anagama at the Sharon Arts Center)

This was from the Halloween night shift firing the anagama. So much fun!
The blow holes (?) ports (?) on top of the anagama at the Sharon Arts Center that was fired over the Halloween weekend. The fire was so pretty at night
