Superman has always been friendly towards the menace known as Phantom. No one is sure how they met, but every once in a while Phantom shows up in Metropolis seemingly just to chat with Superman. Which makes sense, Superman is a great guy that looks for the peaceful solution and Phantom doesn't escalate unless provoked.

Some have tried to interview the hero's odd acquaintance, but even Clark Kent, that guy who interviewed Superman, hasn't managed it yet—though that's mainly because Phantom's visits end up falling on days where he has dates with his boyfriend planned, such bad luck.
